The 100th Episode[Rant] · 4:59pm Jun 14th, 2015
Well, the 100th episode come and gone, and everybody loved it.
Almost.
I really don't know what to feel, aside from disdain and despair.
What happened to the fandom, that they love the utter annihilation of the headcanon for most of the background characters? Yes, it was creative, but headcanon destruction can only go so far before it ruins things. This... this surpassed that mark by far. Season 5 started strong, but has had 2 crip-crop-crappity episodes (this one and episode 7) that are beginning to irk me, for lack of a stronger word.
This episode, along with being crappy and fanon-destroying, it was also extremely scatterbrained. It seemed rushed, but at the same time, crammed into not enough time. It also seemed way too random. Maybe there were "suspicious fumes" going through the writers office.
I don't know, I just don't know.
Just kill me, before this season gets any worse.
Dude, just sit back and enjoy the shenanigans. Episode 100 was never intended to be taken seriously. Just think of it as one giant, late April Fools joke, because I bet we will never see any of this again.
3152309 true, dat. Maybe this means I can get away with not following the new "Canon".
3152594 We'll just have to see whether the staff picks any of it up again. But I loved seeing Tia and Luna acting like sisters, for example.
The thing I find hardest to accept is Octavia living with Vinyl, since this is the first time we have ever seen Octavia in Ponyville. That's not to say the Canterlot accent can't be learned, since Rarity also has it. But the point is, this episode is like the staff is winking at us.
