She's looking at you. Yes you. And she is judging you with her eyes. There is no escape.

    I'm not dead.

And I haven't given up on ponies.

I've been laid low by this kidney stone.

    Early chapter preview

The late afternoon sun was golden in hue and warm upon the withers. Luna, a giant, stood upon the train platform surrounded by those most precious to her, little ponies. Of course, the little ponies came in all sizes, with some of them almost as large as she, so calling them little ponies felt strange at times. Amidst the chaos, there were four small little ponies, who stood in a neat row

Another one of those blog posts

The cost of power was grief. In a moment of terrible clarity, Luna understood this. To be the creature she was—an alicorn—was to invite grief. She was a lightning rod for calamity. How her sister dealt with this dreadful state of being was unknown to Luna, but as she sat there, staring at Wednesday Waterkey and Top Notch, she had an inkling, an intimation of how Celestia endured. Songs that capture a mood · 1:27am Jun 14th, 2015

If I want to write something sad, I play songs like this one.

Music really does influence your mood when you write. Seriously though, give the song a listen. You youngsters probably don't know who Roy Orbison is, but that's okay. He's awesome.

I'm an old punk. I can listen to whatever the hell I want.

Have you heard that Black Flag abomination of a Pretty Woman cover?

I might have. I've listened to some Black Flag.

Faster pace, somehow making it sound like a guitar is being run over a cheese grater before the opening chord, doing a self reference rather than a callback to the Dead.... I'm sure they're a good band, but they (IMO) made hash of one of Roy's greats.

Music is, first and foremost, about the evoked mood...

I think it's the reason why I get in the mood to listen to one song over and over. I am ready for that exact mood, so I have a listen.

Bah, somehow Roy Orbison lead me down the path to listen to Mason Williams and Classical Gas... including one version with an electric harp duet rather than the symphonic orchestra. Actually not a bad combo....

Are we gonna have a chase Q&A soonish?I have a couple questions good sir.

Yes. I have one planned. But right now, I am about to get some sleep.
