Songs that capture a mood · 1:27am Jun 14th, 2015
If I want to write something sad, I play songs like this one.
Music really does influence your mood when you write. Seriously though, give the song a listen. You youngsters probably don't know who Roy Orbison is, but that's okay. He's awesome.
I'm an old punk. I can listen to whatever the hell I want.
Have you heard that Black Flag abomination of a Pretty Woman cover?

I might have. I've listened to some Black Flag.

Faster pace, somehow making it sound like a guitar is being run over a cheese grater before the opening chord, doing a self reference rather than a callback to the Dead.... I'm sure they're a good band, but they (IMO) made hash of one of Roy's greats.
Music is, first and foremost, about the evoked mood...
I think it's the reason why I get in the mood to listen to one song over and over. I am ready for that exact mood, so I have a listen.
Bah, somehow Roy Orbison lead me down the path to listen to Mason Williams and Classical Gas... including one version with an electric harp duet rather than the symphonic orchestra. Actually not a bad combo....
Are we gonna have a chase Q&A soonish?I have a couple questions good sir.

Yes. I have one planned. But right now, I am about to get some sleep.
