Episode 100, also known as, when the writers just took a dump on the fandom · 4:32pm Jun 13th, 2015
Well I usually only do stories that feature all of the Mane 6, but with the 100th episode...
Well it wasn't all bad. I mean, Derpy was pretty nice, and the way they managed to show her as a lovable pony that tries her best and even goes back to fix her mistakes was perfect.
The Doctor was...okay. His science obsession was great, but I think they overdid it with trying to put too much Who into him. Sure thy couldn't just go out and say he was a time lord that got lost and ended up in the pony dimension, but they could have at least just stuck with the David Tenet Doctor instead of trying to make him a hodgepodge of several like they did with the scarf.
I'd complain about Vinyl and Tavi but...I watched the spoilers so...I was kind of prepared for it. And by then they had already shown the episode was like a build-up of crazy. So when it came their turn to make a showing, they had to have something completely overblown to keep in line with the style of the episode. And, they managed to do it without messing with the fandom.
Lulu and Tia arguing over a present problem...kind of funny but...them being there for the wedding of a pair of nobodies really seemed out of place. Them and Cadance. Do they do that for EVERY wedding? And if not, just what the hell is so special about a pair of donkeys that the fucking gods have to show up?
But, the unforgivable thing. That which can NOT be choked down, ignored, adjusted to, or forgiven even in the SLIGHTEST is...Lyra and Bon-Bon. Okay...if the writers had just gone the route of not mentioning they're a couple, I could understand. 50% of America is still of the opinion that G&L community is wrong, and Hasbro can't really take the risk of showing a lesbian couple on a kid's show. But they sure as hell didn't have to have the FUCK UP that they turned it into!
Bon-Bon as a former secret agent? What the fuck was the moron who wrote this episode smoking AND drinking when he came up with that idea?
"And the constant "best friends, best friends, best friends!"
Sure I'm not really into the whole Lyra & Bonnie ship, but...GAAAAAH!
After that, I'm GLAD Colgate, didn't get a speaking role.
Just who is responsible for this insult to all things pony?
*Looks on the MLP wiki*
Oh...that makes sense...
GOD DAMN YOU M.A. LARSON! GOD DAMN YOU TO HELL!
Oh and, changeling attended the wedding! That was Awesome :)
So yeah, over all, it was enjoyable...as long as you could ignore the middle finger that was Lyra and Bon-Bon.
The Lyra and Bon-Bon subplot was a Shout Out to True Lies, and I think it was pretty obvious that they were at least lovers. Maybe married.

I don't see a reason they can't be best friends and lovers, yeah.
Given the fact that the characters literally jumped the shark

I cant help but think that this episode was made to be nothing more then a goof.
Y'know, I just got done watching the episode (all of the shit being talked about it made me too curious to wait until the season's end like I usually do,) and for my part I read the Lyra/Bon Bon subplot being best friends in the way that lesbians used to live together. Y'know, the way people used (and still do in some places,) to describe the same sex person they lived with as their "very special friend". All the love and romance subtext makes it feel that way to me.
And the whole secret agent thing was just a silly way to play with the fact that she had a fan name and a canon name.
The only that really annoyed me was Doctor Whooves. That could probably just be his voice, though.
Then again, I tend to look for the best in things. It could just be that stupid optimism blinding me to the bullshit. It does that.
they weren't at the wedding of a pair of nobodies. they were there at the wedding of two individuals who had both once been to the grand galloping gala, which meant they were respected enough by Celestia at the very least to get her to invite them. So them getting married? She'd attend.
