So, I'm officially a world traveller.

So, I went to Italy at the end of May. Pretty fun experience, really. I was admittedly all ruined out by the end of it, but I seriously enjoyed the landscapes as well as ruins such as the Coliseum, The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, and Mt. Etna. Oh, wow, Mt. Etna was glorious. The views coming to and from the mountain, actually going up 10,000 ft. to the highest safe point on the

    Outlines!...but not much else.

So, I have a good thing going in that I have a least three stories oulines for Stories From the Grave. Maybe four if I include the one I had originally meant to start out the little collection.

    I hate my English classes.

To put it simply, I really, really, really just don't like how much thought I have to put into everything I read like my goddamn (or Celestia-damned) life depends on it.

    Chasing Ice

I normally don't write about what I've seen in my college classes in a more public setting, but I really do kinda feel like I need to get thise off my chest.

    You know that feeling...

When you're stuck with a good number of stories you want to read (or re-read!) yet feel like you have other commitments that you either want to or need to take care of at the same time, and the resulting opposite forces make you feel like you're being mentally pulled in two (or three, or however many unique other things you feel need to be done at the time)?

Yeah, I got that. In spades.

So, I'm officially a world traveller. · 12:15am Jun 11th, 2015

The views coming to and from the mountain, actually going up 10,000 ft. to the highest safe point on the volcano, feeling the gravel under my shoes, and actually putting my hand on a warm spot near the top was just...indescribable. Really, all of Sicily was the high point of this trip. You should really try to go there at some point.

Anyways, things have still been rather stagnant in the story department. I have the prologue to Stories From the Grave up to publishing level (aka 1k+ words), along with a sort of preface that'd be added along with it, but I just haven't found the gumption to start writing the first story. The God Complex(ity) by itself isn't going to be an immediate write-up, but I have done more to flesh out how some of the story branches will go. I do have a question regarding the names of the Gods, though. I don't want to outright name them stuff like Ares, Poseiden, etc.--partially because I really don't want to try to capture the nature of those gods and attempt to emulate them--but at the same time I need a way to connect them to those same elements without getting too outlandish with the names. Any suggestions about this--even if it's to tell me to man up and just use those names, although I really don't want to since Tundara is using many of them for Myths and Birthrights and I feel like I'm doing enough of a crossover already--would be appreciated.

I do have another story that got into my head one day kinda figured out, currently named "A day With a Devil". There will be a pony version, most likely as a one-shot, but the main story will not be with ponies, which leads to my second question: What non-pony fanfic site would you guys recommend? I know there's fanfiction.net and that DeviantArt allows for that kind of thing in the art comments section (I think), but if there are any other sites I should know of (whether for fun or where I could publish the stories for an attempt and recognition and/or profit) would be appreciated. Even if I may not act on the suggestions with great immediacy <_<.

Also, one last thing: To anyone who's noticed their story favorites go down one and spotted their story off my favorites list, don't be alarmed! In the interest of doing a little bit of, ahem, "re-shelving" for my own purposes, I have created two new bookshelves for incomplete and complete stories, respectively, that I want to re-read. Not every story has had this treat, admittedly, but these shelves have been created to help separate out which stories I want to re-read in the future. Should a completed story be finished, then it'll go back to the favorites section. I'm going to try to not touch the incomplete stories until they get an update within at least a month, be it a chapter upload or hiatus update or cancel update. That'll put it up for re-reading, and if it's a chapter update I'll switch it over to Tracking once I'm done re-reading. All the stories here, assuming they all get finished, should all go into the favorites shelf at some point, and then be recycled into the re-read: Complete shelf when I feel like going through them again at some point. That probably wasn't the cleanest of explanations, but there you go.

Keep on writing or reading, folks.

good to have you back

Mama mia. Sounds like a hell of a time. A friend of mine told me how peaceful some of the farm areas could be.

If I ever go there, I'll be taking pictures of other people making awkward poses for the Leaning Tower.
