I've been too long,
I'm glad to be back

Heh, I always wanted to say that.
But yeah. After three and a half months, I'm back: older, wiser, stronger than when I left. I leave Basic Training with less weight but more muscle mass, and a greater understanding of the world and myself. Especially myself.
I also gained a great knowledge of the military, and I burst with ideas about the pony and griffon military, as well as specific characters. There were drills sergeants that reminded me a great deal of Commander Warren Peace (for those that don't know, the Supreme Commander for the ponies during the Griffon-Pony War).
Having gone through Basic Training, Basic mind you, not advanced or specialized, I can certainly understand how a platoon of ponies would be able to go deep behind the griffon lines, perform a raid on a griffon town, and escape before a proper military response could be initiated.
And I see how a pony soldiers could get swept up by a charismatic commander enough to perform heinous crimes.
I have thought about a long fic, focusing on the war, but that would require a massive commitment. I am not confident I possess the time, nor the skill, to carry such a long fic. But we will see.
Other than that, I have ideas for additional Blueblood fic, and have long been trying to get the Blueblood/Vinyl Scratch fic up.
So stuff will be coming. And the lines of communication are open. I hope everyone has been doing good, and tell me what you been up to.
Ahhh well... doing a lot of not-pony things. Well not publishing pony things, anyway. Reading. Commenting. Slowly finishing chapters or writing new things.
Editing for another's fic, too.
Work is going worky, life is going lifey, nothing special to report, really.
Hey, what branch of the military are you in? I don't assume you know what you're doing now, do you?

3131215 United States Army National Guard. I have my orders and where I am going one weekend a month, two weeks a year.
3132055 Neve saw that movie actually. It's on the list though. That, Platoon, Black Hawk Down, American Sniper. I don't watch very many movies.
3155614 Fort Benning, all the way down in Georgia. And my MOS is 11B. Uhm... Infantry, if 11B is just letters.
