So I started a collection of the most ridiculously positive songs I could think of, and every so often I look for more stuff to add to it. But for now, I'm running low on ideas.
If there's a good PMV of the song, I prefer to add that. Barring that, other fan videos, official music videos, or even just blank/lyrics videos will work. You'll get a good idea of what sort of sound I'm looking for by giving a few of them a listen, but I think I can generally describe it as really upbeat pop/dance/rock music with positive lyrics.
Here's what I have so far, in case you didn't just follow the link:
Tegan and Sara ft. The Lonely Island - Everything is Awesome (PMV)
Journey - Don't Stop Believing (PMV)
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (PMV)
Zac Efron (High School Musical 2) - Bet On It (PMV)
The Echoing Green - Supernova (Outlaw Star AMV)
Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky (PMV)
Daft Punk - One More Time (original music video)
Pink - Raise Your Glass (cosplay lip dub)
Pharrell Williams - Happy (PMV)
Bon Jovi - It's My Life (PMV)
When I think of unapologetically upbeat songs, this is usually my first pick:
(The PMV has some minor sound issues and so a better quality version of the song is here)
If you're willing to break out of stuff that's just poppy, I'd definitely suggest a lot of Fooz' stuff. It's called happy hardcore for a reason.
Most of Mitch Murder's stuff is pretty happy, including his offerings from the Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack (Hollywood Heights and Frantic Aerobics) if you're into futuresynth. Most of Interceptor is upbeat, too, so he might be a good choice if you're maybe looking to branch out in the playlist's genres. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
I've also buffed this one before, but the entirety of the Rhythm Heaven soundtrack is infectiously happy. There's plenty of variety on both the first game's OST and the second game's OST, so poke through there and check it out. It's great stuff. Some of it is closer to the rest of the stuff on your playlist, but it's all really great. I recommend it.
Adhering more closely in line with the rest of that playlist (or at least how I imagine it), American Authors' stuff is pretty happy, especially the one that was in all those car commercials, Best Day of My Life. It's usually pretty upbeat stuff, but some of the album is fridge depressing, so there's some songs of theirs that aren't applicable to this playlist..
You also might be interested in Strange Talk, an Australian pop band. Cast Away and the album it's on (also called Cast Away) is pretty synthpop-y and upbeat, but I have noticed that some of the songs can get fridge depressing in the same way that American Authors is fridge depressing (although not at the same frequency). If you don't think about it too hard, you should be fine.
so yeah :D
