    Izzy Moonbow: Fifth Edition Dungeoneers

It's time for Numero Tres in this series, and boy howdy is it going to be a wacky one. With only four levels to work with, multiclassing is a risky, risky business--especially in D&D Fifth Edition. Luckily for us, David Silver and his Ponyfinder setting have a few very crafty tricks to make things... a little easier. And who is the

    Hitch Trailblazer: Fifth Edition Dungeoneers

Once more we delve into Fifth Edition D&D, with the help of David Silver's trusty Ponyfinder work. Once more I say that these G5 characters are only fourth level by the end of the film. XdY= x number of y-sided dice.

First, create a new story. Then roll 1d10 up to five separate times. This die is your PRIME die.
--If you deselect any characters as ordered below, reroll immediately to the number of deselected tags.

On a 1:
--Roll 1d8. Select matching tag from Main Cast.
----If you rolled an 8, deselect all other tags from this group and reroll any 1s you roll on the primary die.

On a 2:
--Roll 1d4. Select matching tag from CMC, ignoring the CMC group tag.
---If you have selected 3 tags from this group, deselect them and select the group tag. Reroll any 2s you roll on the primary die.

On a 3:
--Flip a coin. Heads, select Celestia. Tails, select Luna. If the princess is already selected, deselect them.

On a 4 or 5:
53
--Roll 1d50 (percentile dice divided by half rounded up). Count down the Side Characters tags, skipping Mare Do Well, Wonderbolts, and Mane-iac (or preselect any other three Side Characters to always skip). Select the character you end up on, or deselect them if they are already selected.

On a 6:
--Roll 1d4. If you roll a 4, reroll. Otherwise, select the associated tag from the Apple Family, or deselect if already selected.
----If all three tags are selected, deselect two of them, mark your story with "Apple Family Reunion," and reroll any 6s your roll on the prime die. This story will effectively involve the entire apple family in some manner.

On a 7:
--Roll 1d8. On an 8, reroll. Otherwise, select the associated School Kids tag, or deselect if already selected.

On an 8:
--Roll 1d8. On an 8, reroll. Otherwise, select the associated Animals tag, or deselect if already selected.

On a 9 or 10:
27
--Roll a 1d20. If you roll a 20, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, select the associated tag under Background Ponies, or deselect it if it is already selected.
----Roll a 1d8. Starting with the Flower Trio tag, select the associated tag under Background Ponies, or deselect it if it is already selected.

The end result will be the cast of your story.

Tirek, a changeling, Pipsqueak, Owlicious, and Tank. Yeah, I'm gonna retry that. How do you write that?

Rarity... Then Sweetie Belle... Then Owlicious... Then Opalescence... Then Twilight Velvet. Rarity, Sweetie and Opal? What are the odds?

3101294
Pipsqueak goes into Tartarus to rescue Tank, pursued by Owlicious. Meanwhile, a changeling plots to release Tirek! The plots interact ludicrously.

Now I'm just going to stay up all night doing this. Pinkie, Sweetie, Big Mac, Snails, and Doctor Whooves.

3101421

This only works if you write the story.

3101426 Im writing stories for all of these. You know, for practice, in between other stuff.

Suri Polomare, Snails, Discord, Opalescence, and Twilight Sparkle. I'd say it doesn't get much odder than this, but the one with Tirek and Pipsqueak is much crazier.

You refer to lists but don't include any. Makes it a tad hard to use.

Also for the "4 or 5" part with 50/53 possibilities perhaps ((1d6-1 * 10) + 1d10-1) could be better. (though if you're using a d10 that has a 0 instead of a 10 you could disregard that -1) The [d6-1] results in a range of 0-5 which combined with the *10 perfectly fits the tens place range needed. Then the [1d10-1] creates a range of 0-9 perfect for the ones place. Of course this does leave the possibility of rolling 0 as well as 54-59 which are unused values, this is easily taken care of by making a blanket "reroll invalid results" rule. Especially as many of the other sections already have a local rule of the sort.

A similar approach could be taken for the "9 or 10" section's 27 possibilities, simply replace the d6 with a d4 (or if you're lucky enough to possess one a d3, things are hard to find and bloody expensive). With a d4 it has far more spare slots but it's what's available in your average local gaming store.

This is a great idea. I may try a short one at some point. Though, it might work better if you also had to roll a d12 to determine the category of the fic.

3101426 Well, I'm somewhat considering making a short story with this to submit to your collab thing but you STILL haven't supplied any lists for use with these directions after nearly a month since I asked for them...

3165257

...

the list is the tag system.

just

go into the character tags

that's the list.

3211488 So in order to write a chapter for a collab I have to create/open a completely separate story because this system is dependent on the list that's only fully available there?

Seems like a design flaw to me.

3211818

Not a collab. A challenge.
