    Sincere Shilling!

    If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

    This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

    So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

    Last Week on City Of Doors 7/7/2019

    So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

Not bad for a short little piece. It just could have been so much more. As a long story with more build up and detail it could be really good. As it is, it’s a bit lacking. Interesting, but I never got a feel there was a connecting thread under everything. It was just some random ideas the author had and stapled together. Well, not random I guess. They are all from the same story, just not the right bits of the longer story to make a coherent shorter one.

This was decent. A bit predictable, but with solid writing and it really does feel like there is a world behind the little sliver we get. Perhaps a bit cliche, but any immersion is to be praised. Especially in a work this short. Got a feeling of both a past and a future from it. So I’d recommend this. It’s short, so one way or another it won’t take much time to read.

Exactly what I expected to get. A rant from Twilight Sparkle about not being recognized as a princess when trying to get a cab in Manehatten. Written fairly polite, as Twilight Sparkle would do it. Though seeing her slip from polite to ranting at the end was a nice touch. This wasn’t as wonderfully crazy as Rarity Hates Rainbow Power, but it is certainly in the same genre. If you like the premise, you should read this story.

Silly, fluffy, Celestia has a noticeable voice in this story, but it’s fairly empty of anything except a chuckle here and there. If this was any longer I be it would have dragged a lot. As short as it is, I’d recommend it as just a handful of popcorn fun.

Daring Do and the Celestial Correspondence by CCC

This started out a bit rocky, as Celestia’s first letter was pretty much just a copy of the one from the show pilot. Yet it turned out pretty good. Again, this is a short one so there was limited space/time to develop much of a plot. Plus the ending was a little, well, I would have made it a bit more ambiguous what was going on. I would recommend this one. A fun look at a what-if involving Daring Do.

As always, The Big Master Review List is here: { THE MASTER LIST }
If you know of a text-format reviewer I'm not keeping track of, please let me know and I'll see if they meet the criteria to be assimilated into the list.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
