"Role-player(s)" The form username, followed by their usual mibbit nickname if it's different. It's not uncommon for people to have their character names set when in-channel.
"Arrival/Birth"
They're first organized by if they're residents (currently, there are just two traders in the "non-residents" category), then by if they've been claimed at some point, and then by arrival date. Families are color coded and if they arrive in different groups they will be shown together, with the first migrant.
Characters which are claimed may be made available again if the person who claimed them claimed and abandoned, or hasn't been active (characters who are liable to be revoked in the near future will have an asterisk on the RPer's name). This is done at Telgin's discretion; with him messaging the person who claimed the character. Expect that more important ponies may be kept on a shorter leash.
Portraits will usually be completed after a minimum of two posts about the character (a scene with or a significant journal of the character). A round of thanks, again, to Kryptid for taking his time to draw avatars for the characters. The expedition party also has full body views on the thread, should you click the thumbnail avatar. The same applies to the next segment.
If you have joined and claimed a pony that has been present for a substantial amount of time, you are welcome to post journals/scenes from the past. Please make it clear that they're well out of order on the thread and try to link to the page of the approximate time period, that was I can easily put them in the correct spot! You're welcome to ask other roleplayers if you can write about an interaction between your characters in your journal so it's more than an abridged version of events. An example would be how Lucky Lands appears in Lattice's journals during the trip there, which I consulted iceblaster on.

*This is caused by the stupid trickery you have to go through in the current version of DF to have multiple species in a single fort. Normally I'd have just poofed the baby into a pony, but by popular request, he's a hippogriff. That's very intricate. The level of organization needed for this blows my mind.
I don't have the time to even think of joining this, but I'll try and follow along when this gets its fimfiction story!

If you mean the character list then no, it wasn't that bad. If you mean the story, it's been troublesome, but it should be going much more smoothly now that I've gotten it set up.
...In theory.
Either way, I am the best qualified person to convert it to a publication, so it made sense to get it started early.
The story can be found here, with the password being "shadytrails", though you're in no way obliged or expected to follow it.
It's helped substantially with my editing on regards to how to better work with characters. The downside is that I can't rewrite scenes I've RPed, since they're the base for other scenes/journals.
