Fallen Angels: Schedule Update · 7:19am May 11th, 2015
It's been too long since I updated the tale of our dear FlutterBelle duo, so I feel I owe it to y'all to let you know what I've been up to in the mean time.
First, I've been busy editing and writing a little for the Foalcon group collab, Innocent Inquiries and Dubious Discoveries. I'm generally pleased with the chapters I've written, and there have been some sweet little gems from other authors as well. Click Show to show all chapters, and then use Ctrl+F to search "by Flutterpony" if you'd like to read my personal contributions to the collab. There's a sweet little chapter I wrote in there for the Glitterwing and Merryweather characters from the short story in Fallen Angels that Twilight used to scare poor Sweetie Belle into behaving with Fluttershy, you might remember... You know... that tearjerker a number of you commented on. Anyway, there are a lot of fun things in that collab, and it's continuing to grow and take a part of my time. Hopefully it's a worthwhile sacrifice to those of you who've been patiently waiting for more Fallen Angels.
Second, I decided to test the limits of Fimfiction's rules by continuing my old story Schmerz. I can hardly believe it's already been a year since I wrote the first chapter. Anyway, I revised the first chapter and added a second chapter to Fimfiction, but the story goes too far for Fimfiction rules due to being humanized, so I got permission to give readers an off-site address to the full story in the author's note: so far 4 chapters total, about 13k words. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and with readers' reactions. It's non-consensual, humanized, mother-daughter incest involving a 4-year-old, however, so be warned. It's not the gruesome type, if that helps, and I've done my best to avoid unnecessary cruelty and add some sweetness, but the story is what it must be considering the protagonist's state of mind--dark.
Third, I've been busy setting up and promoting a new group and writing a group-chosen one-shot for the new Foalcon Punch!, the main Foalcon group's exclusively mature affiliate. I'm still looking for helpers to sort fics by sexual content. I hope we can be thorough. It will likely be tedious, but, if anybody is willing and wants a promotion in the group as a contributor, I'll gladly give you some reading to sort into the appropriate folders in both the main and the new group! As much as I'd love to sit, read, and sort all day, I have writing I'm trying to get done.
Fourth, I know I've got enough on my plate already, but it's a relief sometimes to just kick back and work on some small things. I've been contributing to another collab like the good little writer I'm trying to be. Fifth, yes, I actually have been working on the latest chapter of Fallen Angels. It's been on the backburner on a low simmer, and I'm eager to be finished with the one-shot for Foalcon Punch! so that I can again have it at the top of my to-write list. As is, I just add a paragraph now and then to keep myself thinking about it, nothing great as far as progress goes. I hope, anyway, that the next chapter will be ready in about 2 weeks, but, at the rate I've been going, it could be longer.
Lastly... if there are no complications, I'm going to become a father this November.

Done chewing? No? Oh well.
All that means is that I'll have less free time to hang out on Fimfiction or write. I'll probably end up sacrificing my socializing with y'all in the forums in order to make more time for writing, which is honestly what I ought to be doing already. Of course, I'll still see you all around, just less frequently, I imagine. On the plus side, I'll be immersed in the woes and thrills of fatherhood and hopefully draw some inspiration from that.

I've been a father for coming on five years now and a single parent since almost three. If I wasn't able to work from home, I'm not sure how I'd manage to take care of my little girl.
The first year and a half you just kinda vanish from real life. Accepting that early on will save you a lot of worrying in regard to your friends and their activities, including the online ones. After that it does get steadily better.
That being said, I would not completely set your hobbies out of your mind either, hard as it might become. After months of caffeinating yourself through irregular sleep, being able to escape into a little writing fantasy, even if it's just for a couple minutes, might be one of the few things that can still keep you sane.
It's the greatest work, being a parent. I wish you the best of luck with it.

Congrats, wish I had some more helpful tips about parenting newborns but all that comes to mind is that I believe babies find skin to skin contact against the fathers chest to be calming and a rocking/gliding chair is a must have, besides that all I have is personal opinions on how to or not to raise children to get them to behave when they are a bit older.
I would assume we are past the point in time where it is a thing but in general be sure to hug your child(ren) and don't teach any little boys that it is wrong to show feelings.
Also read to them starting young.
I could probably sort stuff for the group but it really depends how big the job is as I tend to hit a point where I've had enough foalcon for a few days and a point where I've had enough pony fiction.

The organizing wouldn't need to be done quickly. I can use every bit of help anyone is willing to give. If you wanted to only organize one folder from Foalcon into Foalcon Punch over the course of a month and then stop for another month, that'd be fine... just for example. If you wouldn't mind organizing at a relaxed pace, so long as the fics are well sorted, I'll be grateful. Lemme know.
First off, congrats on becoming a father. Second I'm not sure if I can help much with the organization of falcon, but I am curious how it's going to be done. Will you take the mature fix off of the SFW group and put it in the NSFW, or just keep the story in both groups?
P.S. I should be able to help organise in a few weeks, just have an IRL project to work on, that takes up a lot of time.

As with the main group, every fic goes into every relevant folder. We won't be removing any fics from the main group.
