The pony processing organ in my head still has some foreign non-pony contaminants.

    Sincere Shilling!

If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

Last Week on City Of Doors 7/7/2019

So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

Here are five slightly edited old reviews:
Parhelion by Habanc
A Voice In The Dark by Blueshift
What Could Have Been Lost by TheVClaw
Twilight Sparkle Tries Napping in a Tree by Lightning Bearer
Lyra Visits Bon Bon in Jail by Super Trampoline

Parhelion by Habanc
[story link] [my original review]

This was fun. Could have been a bit shorter, but it was cute. Did like this version of Princess Luna. Plus it ends with Princess Twilight Sparkle punching Princess Luna in the face. An honor once reserved only for Flash Sentry. Silly fluffy fanfic, but good for what it is.

A Voice In The Dark by Blueshift
[story link] [my original review]

Really good. Pretty powerful look at what the pony tribes might have been like before the unification. With a bit of prelude for that same event later in the timeline. Not as good as A Cup Of Joe, but i’d put it in the same ballpark.

What Could Have Been Lost by TheVClaw
[story link] [my original review]

Somewhat touching story. Has a fairly dark alternate ending for the wedding episodes, though just as a dream. Nice family moment between Twilight Sparkle and Spike.

Twilight Sparkle Tries Napping in a Tree by Lightning Bearer
[story link] [my original review]

Not bad. Start is fun. Pretty much a simple ‘Twilight Sparkle is excessively Twilight at a simple problem’ that is done decently well. Ending was predictable and kind of fizzles out.

Lyra Visits Bon Bon in Jail by Super Trampoline
[story link] [my original review]

This was okay. It certainly isn’t the best ‘Bon Bon is a changeling’ story I’ve read. Which is, I believe, a sub-genre of four stories I’ve read so far? Still really enjoy the all-dialogue stories though.

As always, The Big Master Review List is here: { THE MASTER LIST }
If you know of a text-format reviewer I'm not keeping track of, please let me know and I'll see if they meet the criteria to be assimilated into the list.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
