Hee. This reminds me that I’m still disappointed that season 4 didn’t include a episode that was Rainbow Dash teaching Princess Twilight Sparkle how to fly. As the main plot of the episode. This was another popcorn fanfic. Fun, but not memorable. Had to actually re-check the story when I typed this up because I couldn’t remember anything from it since I read it a week or two ago.

This was really good. A be careful what you wish for story. About what Rainbow Dash would do with a wish. How her personal flaws could lead to her downfall when her limits are taken away. The ending is a bit sad, but I also think it could be a bit happy as well in a certain light.

These were pretty good. They really did capture the feel of fairy tales and campfire legends.

Huh. Not sure how I feel about this one. Decently written, but bland enough that I took a break from it halfway through. So it’s a short story that couldn’t hold my attention for the whole story. It refers to sex, but never explicitly shows it. Basic premise is that Applejack gets jealous when she catches Big Mac having sex with Fluttershy (pretty sure it’s Fluttershy). Then the end is the two siblings having makeup sex after a bit of an argument about it. Yet all I can think about is how does Applejack play the guitar with hooves? Fiddle, sure. Bass, sure. Unicorn with a lyre, why not? Earth pony with a guitar just seems weird.

This was not what I was expecting. It actually kept me guessing about a few things for half of the story. It was also really good. A lot of the details in this story is getting absorbed into my personal headcanon. Not a lot of things, ponies, or places, but this story dealt with Twilight Sparkle using magic in a really nice fashion. Twilight Sparkle in general was a joy to read here. A good mix of powerful alicorn and nerdy intellectual. It also has a very interesting backstory for both Sombra and Chrysalis. So, all in all I liked this one quite a bit. I’d call it a action blockbuster, but intelligent with its premise and characters. Highly recommended. Oh, and a good use of footnotes for comedy and asides.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
