Third Place in the Everfree Northwest 2015 Writing Contest · 7:26pm Apr 27th, 2015
The results are in, and I am honored to have won 3rd place in the EFNW 2015 Writing Contest, with Bastion! A big thank you to all the judges who slogged through the 75 entries, and thanks to anyone who voted for me. There were a lot of great entries in the contest, as evidenced by the four way tie for third place on the community choice award, so I encourage everyone to read through all the other stories that got honorary mentions, as they're probably just as good as mine.
I'll see you guys at Everfree Northwest!
Congratulations on getting 3rd place. Sadly, being in the UK, I have to wait for BUCK 2016.
Stupid failing Eurozone that we have to help fix even though our economy has fully recovered.
I know how you feel 3022508. I was unlucky enough to have to go to Marine Corps boot camp this summer. Starts June 15th and ends Sept. 11th. Right in the time frame where all of the cons I'd very much like to attend will be held this year. I has been my dream to attend one before I left, an even greater dream to see Tabitha St. Germain (One of my absolute favorite voice actors for my childhood and from MLP: FiM) but I guess neither of those are going to happen. This was the one year I would've been able to do it too. Oh well, Honor before Duty and Duty before everything else I guess. As for you, Cloud Hop. Congratulations! Go enjoy yourself! You definitely earned it. I have yet to have time to sit down and read "Bastion" but knowing it won third greatly raises my expectations. I can't wait til I find time to sit down and read it. Make sure you tell John de Lancie I said hi and you better tell Tabitha St. Germain she is absolutely awesome and to keep up the good work. Tell her that one of her biggest fans is training to fight for her country down in Parris Island SC. if you get the chance too. I'd greatly appreciate it.
3023001 Good luck on the Island. While the Corps doesn't hold a candle to the Royal Marines Commando, I do admire you for joining up. After all, I believe that the Island was once described as 'an eight week college for the phoney tough, and the crazy brave.' I reckon you are the latter.
