No, this is actually not about me going insane 
Many people have discussed this both in the comments and in the Wonderverse so i thought i would finally share with everyone...
The voices i hear when i write my characters 
So lets get started!
First:
The Wonderbolts
Believe it or not, i actually hear Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot much differently than they are in the show. I wrote Head in the Clouds long before flight camp or rainbow falls, so the voice i hear in my head for Spitfire is:
I'm gonna be real... i never liked Soarin's voice 
My brain completely changes it to something else whenever i write, and the best example i could find that's the closest to his voice in my head is Cyclops from the old 90's x-men cartoon (Guy wearing the orange with the red sunglasses (warning was cartoon is a bit cheesy at times):
Fleetfoot... anyone who has talked to me about it knows i cried and vomited everywhere when they had her speak on the show for the first time. Because for the longest time i heard her voice in my head as:
Clover from totally spies (red, blonde hair). (Disclaimer: i did not watch this show, but having seen it once or twice, this is totally the voice i imagine Fleetfoot having.
Air Mach: If any of you haven't seen Gurren Lagann: He's kamina:
Silver Lining, as i mentioned a few times way back in chapter 32 is supposed to sound like Lee Ermey, a former drill sergeant and known well for his role in the movie Full Metal Jacket (WARNING: this scene has lots of vulgar language among racial slurs and other fowl language):
This one was very hard to find a voice clip for, because the voice i hear for Wave Chill is VERY obscure, and honestly, the character i got the voice from has a very snarky personality which we all know WaveChill is not. Anyway, when i write for Wave Chill i hear Jonathan from the video game Perfect Dark:
(Skip to 1:30, he's the blode guy wearing blue and carrying a silver magnum)
This is interesting because the voice i hear for Blaze... is actually the voice they gave Spitfire during Wonderbolt Flight camp!
High Winds, to me, basically sounds like Raven from Teen Titans, imagine this voice with a lot of yawns:
Ladies, contain yourselves, because when i write for Fire Streak i hear Pierce Brosnen. For those of you who don't know, he was James Bond before Daniel Craig:

Lightning Streak is based on my belligerent college roommate from freshman year of college. I found this video and this is pretty much exactly how Lightning Streak sounds in my head:
Surprise, to me, has always been a slightly deeper version of pinkie pie... but if i had to put an actual voice to her, it would probably be Deedee from Dexter's lab:
While we're at it, the voice i imagine in my head for Point Dex 
, is Dexter from this same cartoon)
Misty Fly:
(For those who don't get this joke... Gordon Freeman never speaks)
Macho Savage is directly based off the one and only (and unfortunately... the late) Macho Man Randy Savage:
Rapidfire: Ray, from remember the titan's. (The one who gets thrown off the team)
THE SHADOWBOLTS:
Nightshade: Cloud of Darkness. Originally from Final Fantasy 3 on NES but given a voice in the game Final Fantasy Dissidia:

Starry Skies: Lulu from final fantasy 10
Descent: Batman's voice from Batman: The Animated Series (Aka, the best voice batman ever had)
And finally, what you've probably all been waiting for:
THE OCs
Storm Front: Since we're on the subject, when i write Storm front i think of Dick Greyson (Robin) from Batman the animated series.
Squall is directly based on the lead character from Final Fantasy 8, who is also named Squall. He had no voice in the original game, but just like before in the game Final Fantasy Dissidia, they gave him a very fitting voice:
Little Star: Blossom from Power Puff Girls
Matteo: Ulfric Stormcloak from Skyrim
(He's the deep voiced guy on the throne)
And last but not least:
Now... Twister's voice changes often. He has many different voices in my head depending of the nature of his antics. In all the scenes where he has revealed small parts of his life to Dash his voice is not as i usually hear it. However, When Twister is just in his typical silly/crazy state i hear his voice as this:

SO! There you all have it! These are the voices i hear in my head when i write my characters! I hope you all enjoyed this little peek into my crazy brain! 
Ulfric Stormcloak is a fucking racist bastard. So that just made me like Matteo even less.
Interesting, in terms of the first three, I've always imagined Spitfires to be a little deeper, Fleets to be a little deeper (but still high if that makes any sense) and I did imagine Soarin a tad higher, but yours pretty much fits him as well

But I do have to agree Fleetfoot's personality goes well with a voice like that and I think Fleet's voice in FiM is just kinda creepy...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the voices in the show. Then again the show is never kind to my favorite ponies, the Wonderbolts. These are some good references, and I'll definitely have to start thinking about the voices now.

Wow, I was pretty much spot-on! xD Except I like Soarin's official voice well enough, and Dexter as Point Dex doesn't really sit right with me -- I get that he's based on that character, but Dexter's voice is just obnoxious as hell. I hear something more like Ferris Bueller, but a bit nasally.
I think it'd be really fun to play him if there were ever an animated or audiobook adaptation.
Oh, and for a while I imagined Little Star to sound like Button Mash's mom (you inititally described her voice as mature and motherly!) but after seeing some drawings of her I decided she'd probably have a higher voice. Blossom's about right.
Twister has all kinds of voices to me, too. Most of them are covered by Heath Ledger's Joker

Very interesting concept Calm. Cant say I really disagree with the voices. I always had a hunch Fire Streak spoke with a British accent. Though, I always liked Matt Hills voice acting for Soarin, I just always read with a deeper version of it. Also, I always read Twisters dialouge with the voice of Cicero from The Dark Brotherhood.

Also I have trouble seeing surprise in wonderbolt gear as I follow a fan comic called Dash academy and have her image stuck in my head wearing stormball shoulder pads with pinkies haircut

Kevin Conroy for Descent is darn perfect....
I can't really see Soarin sounding like Cyclopes. It kinda sound too superheroish for him. I usually imagine his voice from the show, take out the rasppiness and deepen his voice a swige.
I didn't hear any of the voices (on phone w/out earbuds), but I always liked Soarin's voice from the show. I think it fits his character (his canon personality). I always prefered that Soarin. Such a goof.
I also have no problem with Fleetfoot's voice. I think it's cool, and it's fun to impersonate because it's so easy.
In all honesty, I really like the season 1/2 Spitfire. Her voice changes, but I have no problem with that either because her role is something entierly different from what it was in season 1 and 2. She's a drill sergeant in Wonderbolts Academy, she has to sound tough. It's still the same voice actor, and her voice reverts back a bit in Rainbow Falls when she drops her cool and tough attitude.
If anybody's curious, I imagine Shine to sound like a combination of Pinkie and Flutters (a little bit deeper) with some of Dash's rasp and voice cracks.

to be honest i dont think the cyclops voice is a very good representation. my head sort of made up the voice for Soarin, so i have no "original reference" for it. Cyclops was the closest i could find, but if i had to describe my Soarin voice i'd say take cyclops, remove the "forced epic" from the voice and make it maybe SLIGHTLY higher pitch, but only very little.

I actually got one voice pretty close from what I pictured mentally and then to what you said you heard. That one being Matteo
I accept the canon voices for all of Spitfire in first season, Soarin's voice outright and even Rainbow Falls Fleetfoot but with much less of a lisp. Lee Hermey is a perfect Silver I will admit, S3 Spitfire is fine for Blaze, Randy Savage as Macho sounds awesome and both Dex and Surprise are alright by me, but there the similarities in our preferences happen to differ.

Looked through this again my suspicions on Stormy Warmy's dad have deepened. I'll be proven wrong in all likelihood and it'll be Twister who visits him in disguise, logic be damned.
