We place the question upon our watchers as for what our little Doom might do, we know he has hinted at a specific type but not the armament nor how it would lift? We may have a guess at this time but much of his plans are being well guarded from our view, he doth seem to not be able to hear or see us unlike his fellows.
But what may he make it out of?
How would he arm such a vessel?
How would he make it fly?
What would he load it with for travel preparations? He is meticulous unlike the others.
Though finally where would thou think he may travel to if or when it is finished?

How would he arm such a vessel? Magic powered rail cannons and point defense lasers and a couple of magic powered city killers/nukes
How would he make it fly? Magic fed repulsion runes, seriously they should have out grown wheels AT LEAST 800 years ago and Scoots is still having to deal with a conventual scooter when she should be dealing with "Back to the Future" style skate boards at the very least
What would he load it with for travel preparations? Trade goods for cover front (I'm a legit business man)! Food, Small foundry and lab, hall of armor (show Tony and ALL his buddies good and bad how you make and use the things) for Lyra, Hanger full of drones and piloted craft, all I can think of for now
Though finally where would thou think he may travel to if or when it is finished? Besides where ever he wants to? First trip, the beach! Second up to about seven, different towns playing up the trader/business man front, Then off to whatever country they've decided on getting their hooks into just to look around (You NEVER try ANYTHING like this on the first or up to third trip though you do start making friends)

i think he shouldn't use magic to power its flying in order to throw any unicorn or pegasi out of the loop, about what he could use for lifting is doom we are talking about he can do whatever he want with technology on a magnitude that most cant even fathom as long he has the materials and workforce.
for materials he is buying a junkyard/scrapyard and most likely enlist a workforce of diamond dogs that are well know for their mining skills, he can use to obtain the mats to work several alloys that until then where unknown to equestria.
as for the engine itself i am thinking about a turbine powered by cold fusion by using new mats founds on equestria.
about armaments it would have as primary defenses short and middle range anti air weaponry in order to deal with fliers Pegasus, gryphons or thestrals. followed by long range rail guns for use agaisnt other ships, ground fortress or others, plus a supply of long range fighters drones or piloted for scouting, bomb runs or air combat
as for traveling preparations, it should have a long range sensor array in order to be ready against anything that may come its way, enough supplies to keep it working (food, medical, ammo, and spare parts for repair), a workshop/foundry to be able to make anything it may need in order to improve function without having to dock, a medical bay, mesh hall/rec room/war room and a training room in order to keep the crew fit and battle ready
2923242 Things may not be the same and he is likely to assume not due to one simple but often irritating factor. 'MAGIC', which seems to permeate everything. Almost as we should say that oddities happen. Though knowing our doom he may come up with a method for mechanical flight or some form of magic which either may act as a emergency for the other.

Multiple generators that could do the job of shielding the entire ship by themselves but when in sync with each other could take a days worth of a PISSED Celestia before giving out.
Multiple magic powered Rail cannons. At least four up front, three to the rear, and six smaller to each side. With the ones on the sides and back being able to be aimed while the front are aimed along the main axis of the ship, with the standard armaments being able to be changed out for magic infused materials that could have the possibility of having a dirty bomb effect, if a statement ever needed to be made. While point defense is handled by rapid fire turrets that fired corrosive incendiary rounds (solid and energy but both having the same effects).
First off Dr. Doom is all but a techno-mage no matter how you look at him, in at least one of the cartoons and what not I think he actually is one.
So what would he make a Shield helo carrier (which is at least the size of a cruise ship) out of? Now that he's in Equestria which is a magic saturated land, his options are much more varied. Since the Alloys that he'd likely have used else where are likely rather hard to make or are very much weaker than what he has access to even in scrap form, I'd say he'd make it out of a personally designed alloy that allowed for thinness while kept the strength of a thicker more standard alloy. While being able to take multiple high impact, high damage delivering hits (magic, kinetic and energy)
And THEN we get to energy shielding!
That is, IF she could take the weaponry.
It would be kept aloft and moved by a combo of magic fed repulsion runes as well as electrical powered mag-lev, both being used like the shield generators. Both doing the job but if ever had to one or the other could do the job.
The main holds (refrigerated and non) would be stocked with standard and non-standard trade goods, for a plausible cover. A Smallish/medium hydroponics for food and herbal medicinals. A Lab, Foundry and medical that is as state of the art as possible and always being improved and updated when possible. A Iron Man style Hall of Armor for Lyra and other personal with a few being for our good Doctor. And a hanger full of multiple style of craft. (manned or otherwise) Air, submersible as well as non-atmospheric. (Seriously, with the propulsion systems available and Doom's intellect, a moon base at the VERY least is MORE than plausible!!)
The trial run should always end with a swing by a beach resort , to celebrate of course.
After the trial runs and shakedown cruises are complete, multiple months to a year traveling around playing the good little trader/ business man to cement in ALL AND SUNDRY that you are nothing more than a competent trustworthy business man. Then you start widening your route making friends as well as "friends" along the way. That way when you start visiting countries that look worth while "acquiring" your reputation and your "reputation" will have preceded you.
All this is STILL right off the top of my head and not really thinking about it at all
2927801 There would need to be QUITE the preparation, besides enough for the basics of this. Let alone the additional upgrades, but there might be a few surprises that can happen. For we will say this, no plan survives contact with the enemy.
