Planning a Fic · 5:52pm Jan 10th, 2012
So I'm planning a medium-to-long length fic..
Loosely based on Fallout: Equestria (yes... Another one), and I'm hoping to start recruiting editors/pre-readers early.
It's still very much in the design phases, so I may be jumping the gun, but I'm putting it out there for now.
When it comes to planning and organizing, I tend to be downright neurotic about it. I have about 60 pages of notes from before I wrote even the first word of Absent, including a full chapter-by-chapter detailed summary with setting locations and timelines.
Then I started writing. Stories, particularly the longer ones, usually end up diverging from the plan early and forging their own way to the finish. They take on a life of their own once you give them legs. If you're anything like me when it comes to writing, good luck!

I've been building pages of notes/plot elements/sub-plot elements/flash-back elements and more.
I was hoping to use Fo:E, Fo:E - PH, and Fo:E - PS as source material. Recently I've been getting caught up in revising some plot elements to fit some of the more recent revelations (a problem to be sure) as well as building out the back-history. The back history has taken on a life of it's own though, and may well become a full on story by itself.

Stories are like children or pets. They rarely, if ever, do what you expected.
Hey hey!
I got my editors after joining the FoE community proper, and talking with the other authors.
If you want to have a chat, or look for editors, I would head here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KaoFWVlFlMjYR2KmTWxwCYnvTZQcjEULO9YHSaqqk9U/edit
Hope to see you there soon!!
