Half a Million and Counting - an Omega Blog

Hello everyone, I hope this blog post finds you well.

Firstly, some of you may have noticed there's been a bit more Pony Age: Catalyst in the last month as compared to last year. Well, it is because I gave myself a New Year's Resolution that I intend to keep, and that is the simple act of writing 500 words a day. So far, I have kept to this line, and as such have produced much more content. I hope readers of Pony Age have enjoyed the chapters I've put out so far. I know it seemed like I was on a roll and now have dropped out, but bear with me.

Next, with the publication of the latest chapter of Pony Age: Catalyst, I now have published over half a million pony words. This is almost surreal to me and if I did not enjoy what I was writing so much, I'd likely baulk at the number. That said, I am looking forward to hitting six digits, so I'm keeping this particular train rolling.

Now then, February has always been a rough month for me. What with taxes and work and all that, it is hard to keep going with my own resolution at times. I hope everyone who follows and enjoys my work understands that sometimes, life has a way of saying "no you will not write today".

That said, I will do my best to give everyone at least one new chapter of Pony Age: Catalyst once a month at the very least. I make no promises, but this will be the most basic goal.

However, there is also something else I'd like to bring up to anyone who would like to chime in. I've always had a concern that I can only write Pony Age, and while some stories like "In Her Sanctuary" proved to be a great success, that is just one in a rather limited library of mine. I'd like to expand this library and in the last blog I mentioned that I wanted to write a fic about pro wrestling. I've also done unpublished work on two more longer form fics, one based on a former editor's challenge, and another being a crossover based on Doom. A completely ridiculous crossover of Doom, Doom 3, and the Doom comic book.

I do, in the end, want to provide all three stories at some time, but I would like to ask you, kind readers, for you opinions on three pieces. This is not a voting thing, but something to provide feedback and to see if I should just stick to Pony Age. Which would make me sad.

The following stories:

Champion's Road - Featuring Aria Blaze as the Protagonist, as well as Sonata Dusk, Adagio Dazzle, Sunset Shimmer, and many OCs.
This story is a Romance/Human/Adventure. This will be my first foray into both the Romance and Human tags.
Synopsis: Aria Blaze lost everything when the Dazzlings tasted defeat by the Rainbooms. Splitting from the group, Aria is ill prepared for the trials of life without her powers. Escaping from the cold of winter, she stumbles into a gym with an owner that gives her an offer she never imagined: to be a professional wrestler.
Now Aria must graduate highschool, train in the ring, and eventually make it in the pro wrestling business. The road is difficult and wrought with danger, but with friends, love, and a few suplexes, Aria knows she can become a champion.
This is the first chapter. This is most likely the one I'll be going with.

Karoshi - Featuring Rarity as the Protagonist, as well as Other Characters and OCs.
This story is Sad/Dark.
Synopsis: Rarity has come to Manehattan to work with one of the most prestigious fashion designer in Equestria if not the world. Leaving Ponyville for the big city, she finds that the highest echelons of the fashion industry are not just social soirées and niceties, but a rather paranoid and and shady business behind the silk and satin. Rarity worked for her success, but the price may be too costly this time.
The first chapter can be found here. I know nothing about the fashion industry. Could be interesting.

Doom, My Ponies - Featuring Rainbow Dash as the Protagonist, as well as the other Mane Six and many others.
The Story is Crossover/Dark/Random
Synopsis: Assigned to a backwater research facility on the moon, Corporal Rainbow Dash finds herself fighting the demonic legions of Hell threatening to invade Equestria. She must shoot, rip, and tear her way through the guts of her foes and find other survivors along the way. Oh yes, there will be copious amounts of shotguns.
Here is the first chapter.

Behold my many crazy ideas. This could be seen as a Call to Aid, but the aid I'm looking for is more content driven than anything else. If anything, it just gives me a bit more focus so I don't make a mistake like Pinkie Pie's Wonderful Flying Machine again. Sidenote: I will finish that story... when I feel motivated to do so.

I will, of course continue to work on Pony Age: Catalyst, but I do like having projects on the side so as to not get burned out so quickly, as I was last year. It takes a while to recover from those.

I really enjoyed reading the wrestling fic that you have, I can't believe that you made a rendition of Kane for it, that was great and fun. I would like to see more of that story.
