Whoa, was Rainbow Dash at all involved, or did someone accidentally nudge CAIRO into sleep mode? Either way, a few million dollars of dead drone here...
Jokes aside, just a little look at a basic dynamics test, to see if I could adequately simulate a plane crash. Did some basic primitive tests, and then put it to the ultimate test on my actual SHADE model. Yes, this here is what the SHADE drones look like, if you catch the first few frames before it starts shredding itself.
Great thing is, it wasn't even all that taxing on my processor, so I can add in all kinds of nice things like fire, and sparks, and plane innards (notice you can see through a lot of the cracks) though honestly just the basic shell crashing looks pretty damn good...

But yeah, please note, this is not a rendering, so no shaders or anything. It's just a test, so the environment is supposed to look crappy here. It's just a proof of concept on one of the tougher effects I've anticipated, and man does it have me encouraged for the rest of this.
