Time for another bi-weekly update!
As the title so eloquently states, the next story, tentatively titled "The One that Stayed," is roughly halfway complete! I haven't been getting as much time to write these last few weeks as I would have liked, and more recently have been having the absolute worst insomnia (it should never take six hours to fall asleep - ever), but I've still been chugging along. I haven't done a word count just yet, but I'm going to guess that the completed length is going to be between 120-150k. At the earliest, the story would be ready around the end of February, but a more realistic prediction would be mid-late March (based upon the rate of two chapters per week, which is definitely doable). I still need to write a story description and commission some cover art, which I'm hoping to take care of in the next week or two. Other than that, though, there isn't a whole lot for me to report, so how about a little bit of art?
This is only peripherally related to the story I'm writing, at least at the moment. The mare on the right is Vanilla Chai, who first appeared in "The Cheval Glass" and will be playing an active role in "Stay" as well. I'm still not 100% on her eye color, but the rose color works fine, so I'll probably leave it - Lord knows I could spend a few hours tinkering with it if I let myself. The character on the left... well, you may or may not find out. I wouldn't want to spoil anything. Anyways, I'm actually rather proud of how this particular piece turned out (considering I only really try to draw once a week, if that). I even attempted some really basic shading!
Hopefully, I'll get make my 2 chapter a week goal so the next time I come back, it's to say you won't have long to wait. Thanks for reading, everypony!
The one on the left sure is a cutie. X3
Woohoo! you are a wonderful author and I look forward to your next story
Great job cranking out those chapters. I can't wait to read this new story. Good luck and I hope everything goes well.
Considering I've seen your earlier art, which is still much better than I could ever do, you've improved a lot! Also, yay writing!
Your art is really cute lol
I gotta catch up on the stories
As well as being cute, the left one looks canon, like a rendition of a character from the show. I think it's the swirl in her hair. she's perfect.
