    I'M BA-ACK!!!!!!!! (sorta)

So some of you may or may not have noticed I've been missing from this site for quite some time. At first it was mostly due to the traditional Catholic ritual of Lent, so I have to limit my time out here. Then there was also my need to stay away from political action for awhile, which I make the mistake of getting involved with. Then I got... get ready for this... a JOB! :pinkiehappy:

    Hello again!

I've been away for quite some time. School has been a lot busier than I intended, and even before I started again this semester... I think I've just been losing interest around here.

    I'm So Bored...

My last blog was 3 months ago. I dunno, there's not much for me to write about, at least that I feel like sharing with the world. Writing progress? Still slow. I need to figure out how to push myself. I genuinely want to write and tell stories, but sometimes my concentration is on par with Dory from Finding Nemo. Who, by the way, is officially my spirit animal after some careful consideration

Sirens Headcanon: Part 3 · 3:13am Jan 22nd, 2015

Years passed. The three girls had come to call themselves Sirens, naming themselves after the creatures in their foalhood stories who sang and flew near the waters. Adagio, Aria, and Sonata continued to use their old cottages on the shores of the seas, but also found themselves a cave underwater to live and play in- they simply left some of their more perishable items in their land homes.
They intended to stay young as well. Adagio stopped aging at sixteen after figuring out how to use her gem to absorb youth. She taught Aria the same trick when she came of age, and now only little Sonata remained.
Sonata was not the easiest baby to raise, especially when her “mothers” had little to no experience (or interest) in children. But Adagio did her best to ensure the child that she had her best interests at heart, always holding her and singing to her whenever possible.
Aria helped with the raising, albeit reluctantly. Not that Adagio would always let her. Sure, she’d have to play with Sonata sometimes, and every so often joined in with singing lullabies. But Aria was mostly relegated to housework, while Adagio bonded with the child and made the orders around the house. It made Aria feel less like a fellow parent and more like the older, put-upon sister who was overshadowed by the bratty younger sibling.
As for the young Siren, Sonata grew up to resemble the others, in all but her blue hue and innocent demeanor. She followed and obeyed Adagio’s every word, and though occasionally slipping up, learned how to feed off the negative energy of others and use her beautiful voice to her advantage. Sonata had a natural lust for not only energy but life itself. Most of her time was spent swimming around in secluded areas of the sea (The original inhabitants of the underwater towns near their home had long since scattered) or flying around in the air, high above where no one could see her and she felt free.
Indeed, all three Sirens enjoyed their life of hedonism. The ponies in nearby villages from their home were careful not to go near the shores. But the sirens often came to them in their pony formations and spread out to find food before meeting up outside the town(s). At night, they flew above those same villages, singing. Anyone awake at that time would listen and immediately fall under their spell. Depending on their mood, the Sirens used this power to obtain free food, romantic attention, or just simple adoration and worship.
But it was not enough for Adagio. She often thought about how much the entire world of Equestria could be bent to her- the Siren’s- will. They held that much power. Why limit themselves to a few towns?
When Sonata was around ten years old, Adagio took Aria aside and told her about expanding their horizons. They would not be trapped here alone on the shores with limited supply- they’d have all of Equestria at their disposal to feed off of, and take for the three of them, and them alone.
Aria was hesitant. Not because of moral concern- she’d shoved those aside years ago- or because she cared for any of those ponies; after her parent’s deaths, she held no loyalties or compassion for anyone outside of her fellow Sirens (and even that was a stretch, at least with Sonata). But rather she’d grown accustomed to the Siren’s lives out here near the ocean. She didn’t need the attention of others outside of gaining food- she wanted to stay put and remain living their simple lives. They had everything they wanted here, and besides, Aria had no interest in forcing anypony to adore her. She’d craved affection as a girl, but now she had the companionship of her fellow sirens. That was enough for her.
Sonata on the other hoof, was thrilled about the prospect. She always wanted more friends, but didn’t seem to understand why other ponies were frightened of her when she appeared in her siren form. Perhaps this would get EVERYONE to like her! Plus, she was eager to see the world beyond her home and explore. Outnumbered, Aria eventually caved into their ideas, and they began to plot their taking.
As that was going on, the spirit of chaos, Discord, and his cohort, Eris, had arrived in Equestria, intending to turn it into their personal playground. Since they’d last arrived, the Royal Sisters had risen to power, and pony society was rebuilding itself from the Old world’s rulings, creating a peaceful utopia.
Discord had hoped to make a grand entrance, but Eris convinced him he had to be more sneaky if he wanted to obtain power. He didn’t think it was nearly as exciting, but it did seem like more fun. The two of them happened upon the three sirens, observing their behavior. Discord was intrigued by their power, and decided that maybe, just maybe, these girls could be useful.
He’d already gone up to the Crystal Empire and convinced King Sombra to whip up a love poison potion for his crush Luna, the youngest of the royal sisters. He took some for himself, and used it on the eldest, Celestia, to make her obsessed with him. The potion itself didn’t affect Discord himself, but he was careful to make sure Celestia made eye contact with him at least once an hour to make sure the spell wasn’t broken. It was very annoying for him, especially when he needed to go out and had some more fun with all those unsuspecting ponies, or make plans with to discuss things with Adagio to recruit her and the other sirens to help him take over Equestria.
The deal was this: The three of them would spread discontent across the country, all the while keeping the sisters separated from each other. Discord would continue to spread chaos however he pleased. He would get his mass chaos kingdom, and the girls would have an endless supply of negative energy to feed on. Adagio agreed, and their alliance was sealed.
And so Celestia and Luna were lead astray by the sirens, and when the eldest sister snapped out of Discord’s influence, it was too late, he had usurped power from under them, and they’d been cast away from the mainlands.
Sombra took in the sisters and their mentor, Starswirl. It was a kind gesture, but her mostly did so for his love. He and Luna were never apart, and Celestia tried to get them to focus, but to little avail. Unbeknownst to the sisters, the sirens kept them at an emotional distance, preying on their insecurities, and prevented them from working together. It was usually Aria and/or Sonata who did this; Adagio stayed by Discord as his second in command, overseeing the chaos back in the mainland.
This continued for six years. Disharmony and widespread chaos continued throughout Equestria. Adagio, Discord, and Eris, were the official leaders, and used their powers to create more enjoyment for themselves at the expense of other ponies. Aria and Sonata were the “princesses”, of sorts who hung around, sang for pleasure, and fed off the negative energy all over the place, with no one there to halt their progress.
Adagio had also taken the liberty of stealing some spells- both finished and unfinished- from the Great Starswirl the Bearded. She and the other sirens took to practicing these spells with their own unique magic, hoping to harness the power of unicorns in addition to their voices. This way, they’d become even more powerful than ever before, perhaps on the same level as the Draconeqi.
But Adagio was growing impatient. She wanted to be the one ruling this land, not play second fiddle to Discord. He wanted a personal playground, but she had ambition. Some nights she’d sneak off with him without Eris, and attempted to seduce him. Discord was unaffected, but her played along with her little games, and the two developed a “relationship”, unbeknownst to the female Draconequus (who was fiercely protective of Discord).
But their was another who had her eye on the spirit of Disharmony: Sonata. She was young when he and her “family” rose to power, and he’d been a figure in her life for some time. She loved his chaotic tricks, especially the chocolate rain and taco rainclouds. He'd once heard her sing, and he had complimented her. Sonata had been confused at first how Discord didn't seem to fall into a trance as she sang, but at the same time she admired that about him.
When she wasn’t feeding or singing, Sonata often spied on him, adoring him. Unfortunately she had to deal with the fact that he hung out with that awful Eris. But she could tell that her Discord didn’t even like her that much. Maybe someday, with Eris out of the picture, she could be with him.
At least, that’s what she’d hoped. One day, she and the other sirens overheard the two Draconeqi arguing. Eris was getting suspicious about Discord and Adagio. So he had to set to record straight: He saw the sirens as nothing but tools for their own power, and he’d never replace Eris (in truth, he cared little for Eris as well, but she held power similar to his that he greatly admired, and he had to pacify her somehow).
As they went home after that, they all let his words sink in. Adagio felt used and betrayed, Sonata was heartbroken, and Aria couldn’t care less about the situation. But Adagio saw opportunity here; she’d never get away with getting rid of Discord completely, not without getting caught. She could have someone he’d least expect to take care of him. And Sonata, in her emotionally wrecked state, would be perfect. She told her that night that he deserved death, and handed her a knife. And so Sonata went out to find and slay the draconequus who broke her heart. And maybe Eris while she was at it.
When she found them, they were asleep. Sonata readied her knife, aiming for Eris first. But the Draconequus awoke and berated her, claiming she couldn’t possibly kill Discord. She then challenged Sonata; if she could kill her love, then Eris would allow Sonata to kill her as well. The young siren went up to Discord, and she watched him sleep peacefully. But she couldn’t- wouldn’t hurt him. She cared for him too much. Sonata let the knife drop to the floor as she started to sob. She brought her hooves to her face as Eris mocked her, until she finally ran back home, defeated.
Only a few days later however, Discord was found encased in stone. Enraged, Eris went after the sirens, convinced that they had had something to do with it. She fought with Adagio, who had Aria back her up, and Sonata watched , seemingly helpless. But she quickly remembered Adagio still had those spells from Starswirl the Bearded. Perhaps one of them could help them get rid of Eris- for good. Inside their spell collection was a time spell that opened a wormhole into the future, and it worked only once. Motivated by her jealousy and blind hatred, Sonata was able to use her siren magic to create the portal, and she and her fellow sirens successfully sent Eris flying into the portal, to who knows where. The three of them now held Equestria in their hooves.
Victory did not last long, however; The royal sisters and Starswirl the Bearded himself had returned to Equestria, ready to retake the thrones and restore order. Since the takeover, Celestia had become more vigilant and mature, and Luna was now a mother of twins with Sombra- Artemis and Apollo. But Sombra had been overtaken by a dark magic during their time together, and had enslaved his own kingdom. When the sisters took him down and encased him in ice, he cursed the Crystal Empire to vanish into thin air with him. Luna grieved for him, and she and Celestia returned to to hide out in the Everfree Forest. Starswirl took in the twins. It was in the forest that the sisters were alerted to a means of defeating Discord- the Elements of Harmony. With these, they were able to turn him to stone, seemingly for good.
But it was saving Equestria from the Sirens that would prove to be the real emotional hurdle. Luna had known Serena well, and had promised herself to look after her daughter. But though she watched from a distance, unable to leave Celestia’s side, Sonata had quickly begun to slip away from her influence and into Adagio’s. Luna would visit her in her sleep, but the young girl never knew who she was. Then the love poison incident occurred, and she lost touch with Sonata completely. Though Luna now had her own family, she still cared for Sonata upon returning. So she was devastated upon finding her on an equal level of cruelty and danger as her kind. And though she knew that the sirens were bent on finishing what Discord had started, she couldn’t bring herself to hurt the blue siren she loved. But if Equestria was to be safe, they all had to be defeated. And so it was Starswirl who sent them away- to a dimension where they would be essentially powerless.
Shortly afterwards, Luna would snap from the stress of losing her loved ones and attempt a takeover herself. Celestia would then banish her sister to the moon, and soon Starswirl, Artemis, and Apollo would die afterwards- Starswirl of old age, and the twins in a battle regarding whether or not to free their mother. Artemis was killed in the struggle, and her brother died in guilt and grief. Celestia was left alone.
The sirens had not left the land unharmed, however. Even in the smallest of forms, chaos and disharmony existed, and so long as that were true, hope would be there for both Discord and the Sirens. A lovestruck Siren had clung to this hope, and before she had been banished, defied Adagio for the first time. She’d snuck out to where her stoned Draconequus stood entrapped and, using her siren spell and all three of their necklace gems, cast a spell to set her beloved free. His stone prison would break someday- in the form of friends bickering or otherwise generating disharmony and negativity. What would Adagio think? Who knows? Who cares? The point was that she’d finally have Discord to herself, and she’d deal with her family later.
It was a dream that Sonata would allow to guide her even after being sent to a faraway land. For many years, Adagio would promise her and Aria that should they ever come across Equestrian magic again, they’d not only rule this world, but take back Equestria, and everything they deserved.
Sonata didn’t care what happened, so long as that magic allowed them to go home and see Discord once more. Aria was looking forward to having a purpose in life again. And Adagio desperately craved the power and rule of two worlds.
But they all looked forward to the day when they could finally return to Equestria- no matter how long it took.
