Alex's Newest Project: Desu Daily! · 4:30am Jan 17th, 2015
While it isn't pony and some of you might not care even a little bit, I'm sure I have some anime fans for followers who'd be interested in this!
Desu Daily is what I've been working on since the start of the new year, in collaboration with Sethisto to expand Equestria Daily to new territory. If anything, we're going to use this site as a testing grounds to figure out how to handle much broader topics than MLP, and hopefully make a nice network of sorts.

Hmm, now this is interesting. I might watch this develop even though my tastes in anime have dwindled to nothing.

One thing that I would recommend is regardless of what kind of standards you set for the stories, just make sure to strongly encourage the reviewers/pre-readers of the site to make sure they take into consideration the feelings of the authors who are rejected and give proper feedback by explaining properly the reasoning behind their rejections whenever possible.
I believe that their ability to do just that will be the deciding factor on whether the bad reputation that EqD pre-readers currently have will drag on to the new site.
Is just that I believe that if the authors are made understand, then they won't be as upset with the outcome of their submissions no matter what it is.
Just my opinion.

2728173 I was excited until you mentioned Seth. I know it probably wasn't him personally, but I am done with EqD, so I'm sorry to say, but despite how much of an anime fan I am, I won't be able to use your site.
