Undead in space. They don't need to worry about life support. Pressurization, radiation, or sublimation.
Oh hey, what a coincidence.
No, it's not going to be happening anytime soon. It's a sequel idea bouncing around that won't be started until after I finish writing several centuries down the timeline, and there really isn't much of a plot built yet besides zombies in space. The only thing I have for it right now is a tentative title: "Haunted Sky"
You mean, as in, intentionally undead (yes, I used it as a verb) people, so that they can more easily explore space?
I read a short story regarding something similar. You don't find out til the end, but an explorer on Jupiter is a reanimated brain housed in a ruggedized robotic life-support system. Most of the story is a scientifically-plausible and highly purple description of continent-scale gasbag life, with grazing and predation occurring extremely slowly.

This blog is tagged for a reason.
Wouldn't that depend heavily on just how you explain the undeath to work? E,i, how 'magical' it is?
I do admit and agree that it would probebly offer heavy resistance against many of the dangers of space, though.
I do think things like life-support would be of great importance for morale, however. Even if you can survive without stuff like eating, drinking and breathing, there is a comfort to such activities.
Again, depends on the type of undead, but seems like one of those things that can make or break a mission long-term.

Depends on how psychopathic your undead are, I guess.
In which I imply how Cycle steadily loses his sanity, like every other character I create, and needs a morality chain to keep himself in check.
I don't really how much plot, anyways, so this is pretty much half thought out ramblings.
Oh, and how's Dark Horse coming along?

Guess 'just' company could work. Still, I'd for one would stack the deck as much as possible in that case.
