Happy Holidays & I'm Not Dead · 1:11am Dec 26th, 2014

First off, just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Whatever you celebrate, or even if you don't celebrate at all, I hope you all are doing well and that this new year will prove to be the best one yet.

On a related note. I am in fact not dead and I'm still quite active on FiMFiction, more as a reader than as a writer though. That being said, I am still writing as well. As I'm sure some of you already know, I'm still editing An Investigation Into Chaos and I probably will continue to do so for a while. I fully intended to have the third round of revisions done by the end of the year, but some relatively minor personal issues have made it almost impossible to work on anything.

But, yea, believe it or not I do actually intend on doing other stuff in the next year. First off, my plans for A.I.I.C are pretty much the same as they have always been. Once I get the third round of revisions done, I plan on getting a few editors to help me polish it up to the point where I feel comfortable submitting it to EQD. Honesty, I don't expect it to make it through and get featured, but it's the principle of the thing. I want everything I write to be the best that it can be and I'm willing to spend the time to make that a reality.

I realize that this is still kind of a shot in the dark, but on the off chance that you want to help with editing A.I.I.C just let me know. I will definitely bring you on board once I get past the third revision. If you're the kind of person who likes re-reading stuff as well, it has been revised up to chapter 13 and I post it in the description when I make progress on that front. The story is the same, but the composition is a bit better now.

Again though, I have no illusions that it will pass the review process. Even if I work out all the grammatical stuff, the story has too many issues to really fly professionally. It was a good first attempt, but I have bigger and better plans, as well as smaller, more polished plans.

Before you say anything, I know. I have a problem...

Buy anyway! Crippling insomnia and existential crises aside, I fully intend to get the third revision done soon so that I can move onto some new projects. My plan is to start out with The Worlds Safest Hooves, which is supposed to be a one shot; knowing myself though it will probably end up being three chapters. Then I want to go onto Finding A Safe Haven, which will be another big story like A.I.I.C. I figure it should only take me a month, at most, to finish T.W.S.H. Then I can move onto F.A.S.H, and hopefully finish that well before this time next year.

I learned from my mistakes with A.I.I.C, so I fully intend to make use of editors and pre-readers for anything I do going forward. I also don't want to publish any story until it's more or less finished, that way I can make a posting schedule so that everyone knows when to expect updated, that way I get more promotion from FiMFiction as well and I can hopefully get more readers and thus more feedback.

Feedback is very important.

Anyway. I will definitely be putting up another blog once I get the outline for T.W.S.H done to ask for pre-readers and I will do the same once I get the story written to ask for pre-readers and editors. I probably should just say what it's going to be about now, but paranoia says that I really should keep it under wraps until I can be sure that I can deliver you guys a finished product. That being said, if you really, really, want to know now just bug me with PMs until I tell you; I'll cave if you put enough pressure on me.

So yea, for those of you that read this I'm sorry that I don't have any actual content to deliver right now and I'm sorry it's been so long since I have made any new content for you. I hope that I can count on your readership when I do manage to get some out though. I would probably write it even if I knew no one would read it, but the fact that I know that at least a couple of you will makes it just that much more fun to do.
