You wrote a great story, even if it could have been a bit more polished. You gave me an hour or so of pleasure reading, and that is more than many stories on here, let alone the internet, can say.

I just meant that I think that you are expecting too much from yourself. If you had been writing for every one of your 17 years I would understand and accept your concerns, but as you said, we should just drop that bit.

Well, I've been writing stories for about 5 years, so not my entire life, but it's a least a good portion of my rememberable life. (From age 6 and on). I only have such a unreasonably high standard for myself because I was raised that way (I guess because it's supposed to inspire me to do better or some nonsense like that).
On the second subject, I'd probably chose the Mane 6 as a group as a favorite pony because I like characters I can relate to; and given my lifestyle, I share one or two big traits with each character. Story wise, I would probably say Luna, hence my picture and my YT account; probably because she has the most developed personal story of any character in the show. (Normally I'd go with a "Everypony is best pony" line so I don't show a bias opinion, but I wouldn't have any proof to back it up
So, your best pony opinion?
As far as canon is concerned I would say Twilight Sparkle. In all honesty it would probably be Luna, but she just isn't in it often enough for me to pick her.
As far as Fanon I would have to say Dr. Whooves, because well.... he's Doctor Whooves.
I do agree that I too share traits with the Mane 6. That is one of the reasons the show is so great, you can relate to each and every character.
