Good morrow. I am Clop Done Right. I am a former lurker who has decided to engage with an audience on fimfiction.net. This is a nice website, and I believe it is populated by nice people. I hope you also believe me nice. Introduction complete.
Allow me to state my goal: I desire to raise the standard of clopfiction on this website. It seems unfortunately easy for authors of clopfiction to achieve popularity on the back of fairly mediocre writing. I do not consider this conducive either to the authors of such fiction, who are not inclined to improve, or to the readers, who are not encouraged to expect better. As one with some modest skill as an author, I hope to change this by showing snapshots of "What Might Have Been."
To this end, I will attempt to reinterpret clopfiction stories that readers believe could have been better, working solely from their basic concept to create a new story. If you would like to assist me in this task, please suggest either in this post or in Private Message: clopfiction stories of 5,000 words or fewer, and reasons as to why you think they could have been better. Thank you. I will, of course, credit suggestions and the original authors as inspiration.
Corollaries:
I do not claim that all clopfiction authors are bad, nor that I am inherently better than any given author. Please do not assume arrogance in my mission. I merely hope to create a competitive standard which may incline authors to improve themselves. That is all.
If you are a clopfiction author and I have revamped one of your stories, please do not consider it a repudiation of your skill. I merely felt that I could improve upon what existed. If you would like to discuss any aspect of that matter, I will be more than happy to talk.
If you do not feel I am a skilled enough author to achieve my goal, I understand. I am open to receiving criticism and suggestions for how I may improve, and will work hard to do so. I hope also to inspire other authors to follow suit in this regard.
I will not pretend that clopfiction seeks to convey a plot. This is not disparagement. Plotting is an important skill in all writing, but it is not one I will be entirely capable of utilizing within my limitations.
No plagiarism, obviously. I will not use anything from the original work beyond a conceptual basis as plot. The final product may not resemble the original concept greatly. Please note this.
Well, you've intrigued me. I look forward to seeing what you make. I've personally read quite a lot of clopfiction, and while I enjoy it, I often feel keenly the gulf of 'what could have been', or questions left unanswered. Have a follow.

I can't help but notice that almost all anthro stories with a fixation on breasts are mediocre. It's almost a trope at this point. If you could somehow improve on one of those stories or smith your own, I'd be truly greatful.

There is an extremely old clopfic by the name of Friendship is Sexy. It was once on this site but it may be hard to find. The main idea is that twilight comes to ponyville and runs into sexy times with the other mane six. The twist I am proposing is that instead of twilight being roped into the situation she instead instigates it.
