Paper pony has sadly informed me that he can't work on FPV, citing a lack of interest in drawing. He didn't sound like the happy guy I knew him as. I don't know if his lack of interest might be depressing, or if he has depression that saps his artistic drive. I can only tell with certainty that I feel understandably dispirited. While it's possible he may return to drawing (and FPV) in the future, there's no telling when that will be. But I wish him the best, and we remain friends. So, as much as it pains me, I must now open his position to anyone who wants to illustrate the upcoming chapter(s).
I had in mind that there'd be three illustrations in the 17th chapter. These can by one artist, but two or three is perfectly acceptable. If you wish to contribute, please show (in the comments section) what you're capable of by either displaying past work or producing something new. The style doesn't need to match paper pony's, of course. I merely expect matching artistic quality. Further details can be discussed through PM, and possibly through a medium that allows instant messaging (Skype, Steam, or Google Doc).

I'd volunteer if I wasn't such an unbelievably lazy a** that it all but guarantees that I would disappoint.
Here's hoping that a suitable replacement comes forth soon. I'm going to make a post for you over in Art for Fanfiction, see if any artists there want to help out.

Just a bit sad it won't be Paper Pony's art. It... I am a bit at a loss for words... His art brought quite a lot to this story.

I hope that whoever gets to do the art for the next chapter won't disappoint. I'm optimisticabout paper pony, and think that he might return some day. That's better than to believe he's completely done with art. He did say that he had to end working on FPV "for now".

My initial plan is to ask for artists here. That's why I made a new blog post. There's an art group, but when I looked at the thread posted there, I noticed it had attracted some strange folks that I fear have dispelled potential artists. But I don't want to call it a lost cause just yet. Let's see if anything happens this week over there or here. If not, I can always see if the artists I met at a con last summer are willing to lend their talents. I predict it won't be for free, but paying a fee for quality illustrations is not an insurmountable obstacle.

I hope he's okay. He's a pretty good artist, and has a lot of heart. Might be having RL troubles such as finances or people problems.

As for the chapter, I just think it's a tradition for FPV to have art in the chapters. The absolute minimum is one image. With such a low requirement, I thought a few would leap at the chance to illustrate the chapter. Unless the thread on Art for Fanfiction attracts genuine interest, then only one person has offered their services.
Paper Pony supplied me with a full illustration of my OC for free, despite my insistence at paying for his work. He's a genuinely nice guy and doesn't mess around with anyone whom contacts him (unlike a lot of people I've gone to for commissions... particularly this christmas where a Plush I had requested and put money towards, was canceled and put back 3 months. I had it requested for Christmas as a present but this is neither here nor there.)
I hope Paper finds his drive again, if he has depression he's not alone of course and many of us understand that feeling and would never push him towards doing things he doesn't have the will to do.

I too hope he will recover his artistic desire.
We've had a few nice chats on the first half of this year and prior, so him becoming borderline reclusive worried me considerably. I don't know if he's depressed or not, and I haven't mustered the courage to ask. I fear I could make it worse desite my best wishes to the opposite. But I'll keep him appraised on new chapters, maybe even let him review some of the potential art if he wants to. He still seems to like FPV, so that's a definite plus. He's done so much for me, that I simply must repay his generosity.
As for artists, it's possible the 17th chapter will feature art by two artists. One illustration is complete, and it's likely it'll be included in the chapter. I also recently received very promising sketches!
P.S. Sorry to hear about the plush being delayd by 3 months.
