So... Happy Birthday to me. And more disappointing news after the break.

So, hey guys. Been a while. Sorry for my long absence, but because of real life keeping me busy, I couldn't do much writing. And because of that, my creativity has slowly began to halt. I tried to jump start it back, writing some pages for all my stories, but I couldn't really keep it up. Hopefully, that didn't mean I was going to up and abandon everything. I have some drafts for Iron Colt and

Feathered Heart Chapter posted Plus Stuff

Well, I finally put out Chapter 19, and hopefully I'll get 20 out soon. These two chapters have been sitting in my Google Drive for months. They were already pre-read and looked at, but I couldn't publish them until I made sure that the following chapters afterwards were going to the direction I wanted. I now have a vague idea where to go, but without writing for that amount of time, I think I

Happy Christmas and any other Holidays you celebrate this time

It's a day after Christmas. My Grandmother, whose birthday is on the 25th of December is getting her party later. I'm looking forward to the suckling pig roasted over a spit.

This year is almost coming to an end. Funny that my most productive moments of writing were in the past few weeks alone.

Working on Feathered Heart Chapter 15

Well folks, for some reason, I've been churning out words for the new draft. I already reached a respectable 3000 words on two sittings. That's a little rare for me now, since I've been gone from the game for a while. Hopefully, I'll have this bad boy ready soon.

    Changeling Roun Chapters Published

So, yeah, there you go. Have fun.

Time has not been generous to me. I've been moving from one place to another, and any free time, I have spent either sleeping or playing with my BRAND NEW PS4!!! Yeah! I saved up, and even got some extra birthday money that allowed me to finally buy the console. I had a blast with all my games.

Delays, Apologies, Movies · 9:39pm Nov 20th, 2014

So... I was dead for a few weeks. Maybe a month? Almost no contact to anyone on this site. I even avoided Skype and other Messengers. What can I say? Well... sorry for not saying anything until now. Honestly, I spent most of my time out and reading other fanfiction (Harry Potter and Mass Effect, though the fanon on those two are starting to bore me for a lot of reasons), and I only started writing the next Changeling Roun draft a week ago. Let me tell you, I just wasted my week.

One whole draft, around 1000 words, and I just had to do a complete re-write. It seems I'm either very very rusty, or I was just not using my brain. Thankfully, I still have some material to use, so it won't be a complete waste of my time, but with a delay like that, Feathered Heart got a kick in daddy-bags with it's own delay too.

So, yes. That's my Delays, Apologies part of the blog.

For the Movies part, well, I just saw Big Hero 6, and it was pretty enjoyable. I do have a soft spot for superhero films, as well as cartoons, whether it's CGI or classic hand-drawn style. I found it funny, a little touching, and had some cool battle scenes. Disney is pretty much doing a very good job so far, and I'm hoping that universe can expand. It doesn't really hold your hand, and can throw a bit of surprises on your way. It also is like one of the rare few superhero movies that don't even put a romance option.

Yes. No. Fucking. Distracting. Romance.

Not that I'm not a fan of romance (I love you Her), but sometimes, Romance on those genres kinda get tacked on. Probably a reason why Feathered Heart is kinda slow on that department. It's on it's action phase, with bouts of romanticsm/character growth/interaction in between. In fact, I'll be completely honest: FH won't ever be made to a movie.

But then again, I highly doubt Gentleman for Mares will be made to one. And I blame Nymphomaniac. Yeah. I blame you, you slow-paced idiotic piece of pretend cinema. I mean, how daring would it be to make a serious movie about a person who's (considered) being sick because she is... well, you know, right? But no. What we got was... well, that. Ugh.

FH doesn't really have a checklist of what movie execs want, or what a average movie goer wants. It's a little too realistic on the militaristic side (not much explosions. I mean, just one grenade thrown? After 10 chapters? Who the fuck wants to watch this shit?), and the whole mix of lower tech with magic and more advanced human tech doesn't really work out in the end. Remember Avatar? But then again, it was a stupid because of something else rather than the concept of old world vs new world.

Out of all my works, I think Changeling Roun is the one with the most potential to be made to a movie. It's a thriller spy-piece with a femme fatale James Bond who is hiding underneath a world that wants to bring them down... and the sex scenes can be mostly edited out. You can easily bring a list and check each box for movie execs to be happy.

But then again, this universe centers around relationships between a human and a non-human. Worse, the non-human are very close to animals in body. I can see how many mothers would send me Howlers and hate mail of trying to corrupt their kids or human society, trying to destabilize human morals and decency by suggesting we fall in love with horses, insects, and weird birdy cats.

Thank God for my profile pic. Anyone who hasn't seen my face will probably be hunting for a female Persian cat, believing that this filth I write isn't something a normal human would do. Maybe they can sleep better thinking I'm actually some super-smart cat in heat, expressing my repressed emotions of being a freak experiment due to the prominence of GMO and Nuclear Fallout.

Well, there you go. Delays, check. Apologies, check. Movies, check.

For those that watched it, is Interstellar okay? And no spoilers, please.

That’s why I like feathered heart so much; the ‘romance’ doesn't feel tacked on because it’s done very slowly through character growth, rather than being thrown in your face.

Seeing two people slowly start to become more comfortable around each other (which would take even long in the situation with the whole species hiccup) is a lot better than just being told that they like each other at first glance with ‘just go with it’ as an unspoken add-on at the end, like seems to be the norm.

While delays suck, it’s just good to know that you aren't one of those authors who seem to have just dropped off the face of the earth.

More like I got drop-kicked on my face. I'm pretty sure Shira is mad at me. Or he's too busy to realize his favorite chew-toy is missing. :rainbowlaugh:

FH has a more organic romance than a movie. However most movies end before you hit the 2 hour mark so they have to rush in some lame 3 act structure. I still enjoy the mixing of old and new tech. I've always enjoyed that kinda thing when it's done right.

I actually just got back from watching Interstellar. I wasn't going to originally, but I had to be out of the house, and it was the best option to kill time at the moment.

Interstellar is well worth a trip to the movie theaters. This means a lot, coming from a guy who likes to file share before I buy.

I usually like to give some kinda hint, but I just can't. The feeling is similar to trying to get someone to watch Cabin in the Woods. Frustrating is the word that comes to mind.

Just to be safe, I'd better get a head start on killing cats now. I mean, if this one is super-intelligent, who knows how long it'll take until there's more of them?

I can't just stand by and take that chance.

IMO, Interstellar was good. It is not a classic action movie, it's more of a drama that has significant action. There were only two plot breaking moments of stupidity, so it's a cut above the rest of the shit Hollywood was been putting out recently.

trying to destabilize human morals and decency by suggesting we fall in love with horses, insects, and weird birdy cats.

Well even without most of the sex scenes, I think that movie would still be rated R. And even though the movie industry is perfectly capable of making realistic 100% CGI characters in live action movies, aliens are still mostly just human actors with prosthetics and makeup. And even when they're not, they're still humanoid. Only exception I can think of is District 9. Would be nice to see a movie with a non-humanoid protagonist. Or at least a supporting character. I guess humanity just likes to toot its own horn.

Glorious human master race.

Besides, I think we're coming to a point where that kind of romance would be... moderately acceptable (in an R rated movie).

And birdy cats are the best!

Who do you think you're fooling? Nothing on this site will ever be made into a movie, and that's all for the better.

(Good to see you're still kicking around).

In fact, I'll be completely honest: FH won't ever be made to a movie.

But then again, I highly doubt Gentleman for Mares will be made to one.

Perhaps not, but we can still give you a neigh for effort! :coolphoto:

Hey man, happy to see you back again. Hope you enjoyed your break.

I don't blame you for getting bored with the Mass Effect fanon. Virtually everything is a ship fic with either Garrus, Liara, Tali, or Miranda.

2607254

Since I haven't heard a complaint yet from you, that means I'm doing it right, eh? :pinkiehappy:

2607304

A word of warning: they have claws, and have no hesitation in peeing in your stuff. Honestly, until they can weaponize catnip to being ten times more addicting, I'd rather not hunt them down yet. :coolphoto:

2607532

As long as it isn't game-breaking, I'm down with it.

2607945

Yup! Birdy cats are the best! XD

2608079

XD I did have an ambition to write a movie script before. Then I read a few scripts, and I realized I had to change how I should write. Narrative is the life for me.

2608175

I can see it now.

Exec: So... it's a romance flick, with a male escort who gets emotionally entangled with his customers, while trying to find something worth in his life. And this is set in a exotic country with different culture? While his boss is pining for him, but is professional enough to stay silent.

Me: Right.

Exec: Okay, we can probably turn this to a cash-cow if we market it right. Maybe do a 'cinema' out of it.

Me: Really?

Exec: Yup. But... the script seems incomplete. There's a catch, ain't it?

Me: Yeah... well, the country is actually an alien world.

Exec: Green Space Babes? Why not?

Me: Not exactly Green Space Babes.

Exec: What then?

Me: Well, they are brightly colored talking ponies.

*Beat*

Exec: No.

2608224

I am probably still taking it. With everything going on. :applejackconfused:

2608388

I'm actually more tired of how everyone seemingly is copying identical themes and storylines, without actually working on the narrative. Not exactly copy-paste, but after a while, they seem to read the same to me.

2608885 You're doing better than most, I'll give you that :ajsmug:

2608900

I'll take that.

*celebrates like a loon Pinkie Pie*

2608909 Same difference :pinkiecrazy:

2608922 Whatcha gonna do about it!? :rainbowdetermined2:

2608928

*cackles*

You will see. Oh, you will.

... man, that sounded better in my head.

2608941 :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

I look forward to it. :pinkiehappy:

:pinkiegasp: Is it the return of everyone's favorite Gentleman?!! :pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp:

I'll never be able to watch "Soccer moms react to Feathered Heart," and that's a bit disappointing.

That story, though. I wrongly figured the pace would be glacial world building stuff, so when the action kicked in and BAM PARASITE AMBUSH HIDE YO WIFE HIDE YO KIDS I was wide awake. And the story gives me a "Humanity, fuck yeah" fix.

Griff/Leatherneck Joint Weapons and Tactics are groovy.

I mean. Griffons and Ma Deuce. That's pretty metal.

2609026

Nooo idea yet. :rainbowwild:

2609967

While I'm glad it filled the whole "Humanity, Fuck Yeah" thing, I did aim it as "Warriors, Fuck Yeah!" thing more though.

Oddly enough, it was Gentleman for Mares that got criticized for being "Humanity, Fuck Yeah. But then again, the reviewer was a bit of an idiot.

No worries. You're one of my favorite authors on this site. I'll read anything you make. :scootangel:
