A Quick Question · 12:44am Jun 20th, 2012
So I've got a healthy portion of the next chapter of Growing Pains finished, but I'd like to take a quick, informal poll on what to do with it. I can deliver the 21 pages I have written down right now and it could work well enough by itself and update the chapter as I write more, or I can wait and send it all in in one big bundle. So the options are:
1: Submit what I have at the moment to my editor, let him make the changes, then post it here to be updated later.
2: Wait until the chapter's officially done to submit it to my editor, then post it here.
I don't want to keep you waiting, but I'm also a little concerned about simply updating the chapter. Is there any way I can send out a notification when I do complete the chapter?
I vote for #2. Don't rush things!
Not sure about the notification thing though...
id prefer to wait longer for the finished work, but as always, its your story, do what you will with it.
As much as I want to read the next chapter, its better to take your time.
hmmm as much as I love this story and I really want to read the next chapter I feel that my patients will be well rewarded if you go with #2.....
I would say do whatever is easier for you
#2.
This might sound bad, but I've waited long enough at this point, that I'm fairly certain I can wait a bit longer for the full chapter.
I'll have the number two, please.
i'm going to have re-read the previous chapter anyways (not that i mind that much) so im gonna go for #2
#2 Waiting longer won't kill us
I suppose I'll take choice two.
I mean, I'd sit through a year or two waiting for this story before calling it quits, and even then I'd keep my eye on it. Still waiting for Total War...
None the less, please, take your time.

Just wondering. How many it is words?
There is a way to make everyone that has faved a story get a notification about a blog.
But I prefer #2.
#1 I'm a selfish bastard.
The squee-ing fan-pony in me demands #1...
However the aspiring Author that I am knows that #2 is the proper choice. Releasing a half finished chapter usually ends terribly.
I suppose you could release a "teaser" blog post with a rough of what you have now. Koba and I did that earlier to some success. Just let your fans know that anything and everything is subject to change at a later date (specifically when it's actually released.)

PS: Did I mention squee-ing. Because I'm totally squeeing right now. So much squee.

A big # 2 buddy, take your time don't rush things, we waited this Lon we can wait until it is officially done.
#2
It hurt to type that but I'm willing to wait for the full chapter.

Too short. I vote #2
i take number 2
but sir, you even read
I was elected to lead, not to read NUMBER 2
I'll be happy to wait, so option #2.
Honestly, its whatever you decide, though the common theme of the comments tends to be #2, so take that as we will
As for the whole notification thing, I'm not sure what you mean by that, so I'll answer a few ways I think you mean...
1) If you mean when you finish, let us (the people following you) know that you submitted it to the editor, then you could do one of two things
A) Make a new blog, saying you finished it (probably prefered)
B) Make a comment to this blog in reply to everyone who commented
2) If you mean when you finish, let everyone who is tracking the story know that you are submitting to the editor, then I would advise that you...
A) Make a new blog, and near the bottom, there's a box that will notify any trackers of the story that you made a blog. From there, make sure to make a title saying "Growing Pains chap submitted to editor", so no matter what, they will know what to expect.
3) If you mean how to notify us when the chapter is finally posted... well... I'm sure you don't mean this, but if you do mean this, it will do this automatically for you
Your question is relevant to my opinion on sex: if you rush it, it will never be as good. However, if you draw it out and wait for the climax to build, you will be rocked by a most splendid euphoria of reading an awesome story. What? You all thought I was going to say something lewd, didn't you? Perverts.
If voting is still open, I'd say go with option number two. Though it couldn't hurt to send your editor what you already have for some feedback and changes. Of course that makes me sound a little selfish...yeah just stick with option two.
184600 That's actually how I do it. I like to think it helps with his workload to send him the sections I've finished so he can edit them right away.

So #1 is winning, right?
Remember the lesson that Applejack didn't learn. I vote #2. Though, a small teaser wouldn't be bad. There is a way to remove the teaser, right? Anyways, you now have my opinion.
Those who read the story have already had to wait this long, a little longer won't hurt. #2.
#2. I've waited this long for the story, a little longer for perfection is nothing.
#2 is the best option in my opinion.
As much as I'm dying to read it, I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice length for time.
Course, it's up to you.
Definately wait until you've finished the chapter, because if you submit what you've done now and find some of the ideas don't work, or you have a change of heart about the direction the story is heading, it'll be much more awkward and difficult trying to change things.
Take your time, we'll enjoy the final product all the more
#2 I'm used to waiting long for awesomely long chapters on awesomely long and awesome stories, so I can wait a little bit longer.
But not too long!dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/sillyfilly_Rainbow_Dash.png
I'm just happy to hear another chapter will be released soon(ish), so yeah #2.
#2 please
That would likely be the best plus, I'll get a big new chapter eventually right?
As much as I want to read the next part of your epic story, I don't like reading things that aren't finished and aren't perfect. I'm going to have to vote for the poo. I mean option #2.
#2
It’s simple, a shorter wait now just makes the next wait longer, and while I’d love to read it now, it’s totally not worth it on the long term.
Maybe I should start rereading the last chapters though, if there’s more to come soonish. :P
Ummm..... I know I am a tad late to be saying this, but I would go with number 2. Also THANK YOU for not completely dropping this story I was starting to get worried that you forgot about it. I love this story and you for writing it. Soooo yea please post as soon as you are done. Which I hope is soon.
