Come Down from Your Crystal Fortress, Twilight · 2:26pm Oct 29th, 2014
I've been rewatching Season 4 a bit, and I can't help but wonder: does anyone else get the impression that Twilight was originally supposed to set up shop in the old castle? Before they hit us with that big ol' crystal treehouse playset thing, that is. I mean, why else would the gang be housecleaning a medieval ruin of all things?
Something to think about in any event. And yes, before anyone asks, all of you get french-fries.
Thank you for the french fries! And yeah, that kinda threw me for a loop, too; one would think that Hasbro would have let them know before they started the season what they wanted in terms of toys this year. Either there was some serious communication issues going on here, or they have some other plan for the castle. Hmm...
2562145 Actually, is that thing really a playset? I mean, it sure as heck looks like one, but has anyone seen anything like it in stores yet?

Do you even lift?
Yes, I thought it was glaringly obvious that Twi was going to move into the place. In fact, I was in the middle of writing a post-S4 fic and went with that assumption, which caused me a week of re-writes later.
This would be a great question to ask of the writers at some con.
2562231 Not particularly, no. Got a problem with that, boy?
2562308 top cake
2562176 Huh, good point. On the other hand, they've been pushing the Rainbow Rocks stuff at the moment; maybe it'll show up once Season 5 kicks off. I think I saw a video a while ago from a Toy fair thing going on, where they introduced the Breezies, a lot of the Rainbow Rocks stuff, and one of the Hasbro people mentioned Twi's crystal castle.
The plot thickens?
First episode of season five, Spike eats the Ponyville castle, Twilight moves into the Everfree.
2562497 You'd think he'd have chewed up half the Crystal Empire by now in that case.
2562521 There's a reason they left him in charge of the pets when they went to land the games. And considering what happened during the games themselves, I suspect the Empire will have to make do with that statue for the foreseeable future.
