Thousands of words! · 11:16am Oct 21st, 2014
So, That was the intro for my first (published) story ever. Sorry if the formatting was so strange, I have new computer with only Wordpad on it and copy-pasting a wall of text like that didn't work as well as I'd hoped. On that note; Are there any good, free programs anyone can recommend?
Anyway, back to the story: This is actually one of two stories I'm working on. However, the other one is is mostly concept so far and has little more than a prologue written at this point. Still, it feels like a winner, and I feel that I should treat it right, and that's how this piece of fiction was made: I'm treating Moving with Magic as a warm-up session for the real stuff but to my mild surprise it felt like reading this could be something other than a deplorable waste of time. So some more ideas have been floating around in my head as to where it might go and what it might entail.
One idea (... Wow! I just realized that I haven't even given the protagonist a real name yet. I might need to swat up on this writing stuff more than I thought) is that the ponies of Equestria can live for a long time, up to two or three centuries, and ages very slowly. Which means that while the protagonist (Gabrielle, by the way) is in her mid-twenties, by pony-standards she's a child, about the same age as the crusaders.
Another idea, which I would like to hear people's opinion on before I implement, builds upon the already established story-element that MLP-FiM is a real show (if Gabrielle is a fan or not has not been decided) that the protagonist is familiar with. However, this time there's a twist; not only is Gabrielle familiar with the world of Equestria and the Mane 6, the Mane 6 is also familiar with Gabrielle and Earth! Gabrielle is the protagonist of a book-series in Equestria and large parts of her life and background, as well as her general personality is available in any book-store and library, including Golden Oaks.
