XD Yeah, this is crazy beyond belief. I made a rendition of "This Day Aria", and as I mentioned in my previous blog to this one, there is one story in the works that's very much similar to "A Canterlot Wedding"....and well, I drew out bits of the scene featuring the song, so now I'm going to write it out for the fun of it. For your reading pleasure...if that's all right.
So here's the scene! The song lyrics were written by myself and the same friend who has collaborated on a couple of stories here. ;) Some of which ARE still the original bits, or a different alteration.
I do wish I had music for it. XD But if there were, it'd be more of a rock and roll number with a tint of piano thrown in for softness. Enjoy! ...If you want.

Inside the lavish cloud home, alone in her room, Rainbow Dash approached the mirror to look at herself once again. That is, of course, the Rainbow Dash now revealed to be an imposter. A rogue, lone Changeling taking her form, while the real Rainbow Dash was locked away in a cave within the Everfree Forest.
A satisfied smirk adorned the imposter's countenance as she regarded her reflection, she knew full well now that she had won. Oh yes, it was best not to get cocky, the wedding hadn't even begun just yet. But she wasn't worried. Not by a long shot. The real Rainbow Dash would never break out of that cave, and Twilight Sparkle, her newly acclaimed nemesis, would never break out of that cave. Even if they could, they would never make it in time. It was going all too well.
With her smile brightening with malice, she sang out to her reflection, right in Rainbow Dash's own voice,
"This day is going to be awesome
Been dreaming, waiting for this day since I was small
Everypony will watch with pride
As I stand beside my bride
And they won't even know that I have fooled them all!"
Her eyes flashed green, her smirk grew maliciously evil, turning from the mirror and toward an array of photos along the wall.

Inside the cave, the real Rainbow Dash wandered alongside Twilight as they searched for a way out. Any way out. Surrounded by nothing but rocks, dimly lit darkness and shadows, much as Twilight figured the haggard Pegasus must have been used to by now. It was not unlike the underground caverns beneath Canterlot, only without crystals, when she had found the real Princess Cadance. If anything, this entire event was proving to be one major case of deja-vu, despite the obvious alterations.
She stopped, hearing Rainbow Dash now singing her thoughts. Despite it was clearly her, the way her voice carried out the words, she sounded tired, weak, even defeated. It was nothing like the Rainbow Dash she remembered, but knew all the more that this had to be torturous to her. If she was willing to display such vulnerability, so much emotion, it was apparent she felt to be slowly losing the battle, but was still trying to fight it.
Rainbow Dash held back tears as she sang, weakly, but with the last bits of strength,
"This day was going to be awesome
Been dreaming, waiting but not since I was small
Never thought I'd love a mare
Although now I barely care
'Cause my wedding bells will never ring at all"
Rainbow Dash felt her chest tighten, she felt Twilight place a comforting hoof on her shoulder, but beyond that, was void of almost anything. Her willpower, her love for Fluttershy, seemed to be her only driving force in her weakened state. It wasn't even just about the loss of her wedding day, it was losing Fluttershy...to that thing. That thing that dared steal her identity. She was grateful for Twilight to have found her, but what good would it do? They still didn't know where they were, and for all they knew, the wedding could have been proceeding at this moment.
this is great!
Absolutely love it! :3
Awesome
I read like the first two lines.
And already that's super awesome.
I feel like I say this too much, but I'm tired (probably because by the time I'm on here it's always almost midnight, I should really find some time during the day to get on here and look at stuff) and will look at this seriously some time that's not now. I should make a schedule for this. It's getting ridiculous how I check in on stuff like this but never do any actal reading. It's like, I look at my notifications and then go to bed. What's up with that lol
