With the conclusion of Second Contact, and work on A Thousand Voices beginning to ramp up, I figured it appropriate to create a quick blog post detailing my plans for the next few weeks.
A Thousand Voices is, as I said above, underway, and I expect to have the first chapter ready in the next few weeks. As was stated in the A/N of Chapter 25, it will follow Legion from Mass Effect and its adventures in Equestria. Of course there is more to it than that, but that's for another time... Based on how Chapter 1 is coming along so far, it's looking like it's going to be a much more drawn-out fic than Second Contact was. Whereas the average chapter length for SC was about 5,000 or so words, and flowed rather quickly from event to event or from place to place, ATV is, hopefully, going to be much slower, with larger story arcs spanning much more chapters. As such, it will be much longer than SC. Or at least that's the plan.
Additionally, several people have expressed their hopes for a sequel to Second Contact. While a sequel is not planned at this time, it's certainly not out of the question for the future. Should interest prove to still be around when A Thousand Voices is concluded, I will definitely consider doing one. But for now, I'd like to focus on A Thousand Voices, and will return to Second Contact another time.
Also, I want to go ahead and thank you all for the positive feedback on Second Contact's ending. I've never been very good at writing endings, and with the sheer amount of planning that went into Second Contact's, I am glad it paid off. I will remember what I learned from writing SC and apply it to A Thousand Voices to give you all the best possible reading experience.
So, anyway, that's the basic plan for the next few weeks. I'll probably not post anything else on here until Chapter 1 is published, but if something comes up, I'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll be here to read A Thousand Voices!
