Looking for a flash-animated television show aimed at a young, female audience that's far better than it has any right to be? Well you really only have two choices, and the second one is Ruby Gloom!
This one of those halloween themed shows. You know, the type that take place in a sort of Halloween town with victorian style houses and graveyards everywhere. Where it's always perpetually night and and all the characters are monster type creatures save the one token human...
I'm pretty sure it's just a sort of wish fulfillment, but I immediately love anything in that setting. Living in a town where it's perpetual night and everyone has good fasion sense/is a horrible monster has always been my dream.
I can't say that it's as good as MLP. It has much more of a kids show feel, the songs aren't very good and a lot of the episodes are bland. Even still it stand heads and shoulders over just about any other show in the same demographic with its wonderful atmosphere, good characters and occasionally very funny jokes.
The best part of the show, in my opinion, is the character Misery and her dark sense of humor. Almost every scene with her in it is gold!
There's one episode where it actually become daytime in Gloomsville. I feel this episode sums up my feelings towards the sun...
Finally someone with an animation studio understands me!
All the double-entendres...
I shall have to watch it at home.
Remind me when you see me around, Epsy-love. I could use something creepy-cute and magical.
I mean, like, in addition to you, of course.
