So... Naruto is finally coming to a close... · 1:29am Oct 7th, 2014
So I went onto Facebook earlier and one of the top trending stories right now is that Naruto is finally coming to a close in five weeks.
I... I just don't no how to feel about that.
I haven't read the manga in... what must be years now, but even so, my first ever forray into any sort of fandom was through the orange clad spiral master himself. He became a central part of my life until other things started coming in and took up my time from reading the series, but I still kept in touch up to today (and beyond) by reading fanfics of the story.
I remember when I first heard of him all the way back in the early 2000s. Tried watching an episode (I even remember what episode! It was episode 6, where the team just set out on the Wave mission and had been attacked by the Demon brothers) on Toonami but I utterly hated the American voice acting. It wasn't till a friend of mine in Middle School showed me dubbed videos on youtube (this was before Google bought them) that I fell in love with the shrimp who's biggest dream was to be the leader of his home.
Now, to hear that it's all finally coming to a close, I'm... sad.
It's like what I felt when I saw Bill Nye after not seeing him for almost twenty years (he got OLD). You think they're going to be around forever, then you're suddenly thrust upon with the truth that nothing lasts forever.
I hope it all ends well for him. Ends the war I've heard he's fighting, settles down with a girl (NaruHina for life), and fulfills that dream. For inspiring and spinning such an entertaining story, it deserves a good end.
