Long Time no Update

Hey all. It goes without saying that it has been a long time since I've had any new updates. There's a lot of factors contributing to that; life, motivation, pursuing other interests. Sometimes you just need a break, even from interesting things. And I've been trying to improve my writing in the off time by working on other projects.

So I'll be getting back to work, right? Well, maybe. There are still some issues I'm working through. Chief among them... well, it might sound odd, but I have trouble liking my own writing. I have been fortunate enough to read the work of some outstanding authors, both proximate to the fandom and published. I cannot count myself among them, although I've since become far more aware of mediocre writing in published books... in those cases it seems like quantity and style can trump quality. Which brings me to the second problem of my slow writing pace. Being a slower writer makes it tough to experiment, rip things up and start over, which is unfortunately something I often have the urge to do.

Buuuut things aren't all bad. I did some non-pony writing and it was informative if not very productive. Practice always helps with these skills. Moreover, I had the opportunity to watch, if not play, the remastered version of Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 (By streamer/personality Rurikhan on Youtube). As always, the game inspires.

And even though I've basically been away for a while, I've been very happy to see the number of views on the latest fic slowly increasing. Trust me when I say it had a very slow start. I would love to see more feedback, but I understand that it's a bit unrewarding to comment on a fic that isn't getting updated. Still, if you have something to say, please say it, I'm all ears.

So where does that leave us? I still like the concept of the fic. My execution in some areas bothers me, but I'll have to leave it for now in order to move on to new scenes, which I'm sure is what everyone would like to see. When should you expect updates then? As you can probably guess, I'm not sure, but at least it is on my radar again.
