haven't ranted in a while so might as well
about a month ago, this happened
now while i do not encourage this behavior and i was somewhat disappointed, she has a point.
an author may discontinue a story for many reasons, either they have real life to get on with or they simply don't have the motivation. and as readers, people ought to respect that in my opinion. when an author says no more, they mean no more. do not bother commenting asking for more do not bother pm'ing them, because more often than not it will only annoy them. even if the author is a very nice guy and there is a chance (not a very good chance but it's something) that he or she could continue, it's not worth questioning.
keep in mind here, that most of the authors on this site do their work free of charge. See that word in red, underlined and in italics? it means you don't have to pay to read what they write. so the writer owes his or her readers absolutely nothing aside from perhaps an apology or explanation. so if you see a story cancelled, don't beg the author to continue, or if something's on hiatus, please don't ask the writer to hurry up. you'll do more harm than good. just saying that you'll miss the story is fine, but outright stating that you want the author to continue is just no
(granted i finished plushy anyways, but that's not the point. please dont do this^)
Im sorry your friend feels that way and she is stopping her writing here on FimFic. Hopefully she fufills her dreams out there and accomplishes her lifes goals.
2488590 this isn't about her only. It's about authors in general and that they have the right to call it quits if they want or need to.
2488842 Oh yes absolutely. I just felt for your friend because I have an idea as to what it feels like to be hounded to do something. I still understood the message you were trying to convey.
2489047 yea.
but hey, it's just one of the many things in life that you just can't avoid.
2489052 Very true.
