Who are they? · 4:00pm Jun 13th, 2012
"Xenophilia" just hit over 500 likes last night, and as I look at the bars I see that big green bar, and then I look below and see that tiny little shred of red with 12 votes.
I wonder to myself, who were these 12? The story had no negative comments left. Were they all just people that clicked the button without reading the story? Were some of them people that actually liked the story but mis-clicked?
Who were you my 12 angry men?
I would take the 12, it is a VERY good number for it's value. No matter what it is there will always be at least 12 people who hate it, it's the 13th+ people that are a bad thing.
I say: Buck the twelve and just keep the chapters coming!
There are always people that dislike something the same with a youtube video it looks very awesome, and is entertaining but then there is that tiny amount of people that don't like it. Let's just say that the 12 people are missing out on a great story
Some users don't like explicit fiction, and reflexively down-vote. It is very rare for an explicit fic not to have 10 or more negative ratings.
Browse through the "Clopfics" category, you'll see what I mean.
172550 Trololololo, ok jokes over. Changing my dislike back to like.

172621 you..... lol
the 13th we're doomed i tell you DOOOMED!!!

I had the feeling that was you since we went from 502/12 to 501/13 You so random
The ratio is absolutely fantastic, so I would not be too worried. However there are always angry people that are too stupid to think that voicing their opinions would be a good idea. These people may even make multiple accounts, its a shame really. Others just dislike every 'clopfic' (even though I would call this a romance story with explicit inserts) they can find.
Still, keep posting the new chapters, and keep up notifying the author with out support!
Also, have you got any updates on any new content that you wish to share?
I was never worried, just wondering about them.
There are so many great fans of the story I could never be worried about it

well, I don't think it'll spoil you too much to know that the next chapter is planned to have an intimate scene with Lero/RD/Twi, but you'll have to be patient. The author doesn't make these quickly so patience will be a virtue.
Patience?!

And no, that doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
Whenever your story is on the 'New Stories' section, people who also have theirs up there will downvote it just to make theirs look a little better,
Don't sweat it. The old internet adage, haters gonna hate, remains true in this case.
12 people hate friendship.
THOSE 12 ANGRY MEN MUST BE SPANKED!

Yeah, given the nature of the internet (and anonymous polls) having 0 dislikes is pretty much impossible (statistical impossibility).
I think you (and by extension the author) need to realize then it's all about ratios. Look at some of the super popular stories out and you'll see hundreds of ups for every down or so. Keep in mind those are almost universally not explicit stories. Which means that the author has written something so good that people normally put off by the explicit tag are still up-voting it. Anytime you have less than 5% dislikes it's the sign of an incredible fic. Less than 2.5% (which this is currently sitting at 1.98%) and it's pretty much solid gold. AGAIN given that this is explicit just shows how amazingly good it is.
I would highly urge both you and the author to not worry about small dislikes. If they are not willing to post serious criticisms then there could be any million of reasons for the down-votes. Could hate anything with Rainbow Dash in it, could hate all clop fics, could have hit it by accident and not realized they down-voted instead of up voted, could be a troll account of an anti-brony. There's just no way to know and that's why the only thing really that matters is ratio after 50 votes. The fact that this story has gotten 600 votes at all is a testament to it's quality and the author should feel proud of himself for writing erotica so fucking good that it transcends people's expectations and prejudices.

I've never thought the story might be bad. Heck, I offered to host it because *I* couldn't stop reading it, thinking about it, getting into the world and the mythos it built. I understand that not everyone will like something, but with all of those reasons you list, doesn't that just make your mind wonder, just the littlest bit, who those people were and what their precise motivations were?
I don't worry about haters, heck if every one of those 12 votes had a comment attached to it, I'd never have thought about them at all. What gets my brain going is just all the possibilities of who they might be, and what went through their minds. It's the mystery, not the fear that it might be disliked.

I always assumed either drugs, alcohol or stupid was involved.
182869 thanks for hosting it sir, i would of never found this story without you, as cheesy as it sounds lol
AnonponyDASHIE learns the first lesson of fimfiction.net: You will always get downvotes.
