Some random babbling and some non-random art · 1:38am Sep 14th, 2014
Hey, everyone!
It's a beautiful day out here in Minneapolis. The sun is shining, the air is cool, there's a nice breeze... it's just perfect! Too bad I'm not sticking around to enjoy it
My wife and I are going on a week-long vacation for our anniversary. Joy! We're going on a long road trip, followed by a few days in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains. I plan on doing a lot of reading and, if the wi-fi cooperates, a fair bit of writing as well, but we'll have to see how that all pans out.
In any case, enough about my boring life! I have some art to show you all!
This is the very first Keepers of Discord art I've ever received. I would like to introduce you to the first three Keepers, by DragonriderSC:

Very nice! I like the details DragonridersSC put into it. Sunny especially, her pose is just adorable and fun. And, though I never did describe what the first two Keepers had for cutie marks, I like those enough to consider them canon to the story
Anyway, I have tons of packing still to do, so I'd best get back to it. I hope you all are having a great weekend!

You can take your cool air and... well shove it I guess since you know air being kind of hard to shove... Sorry down here in Austin we had about a 40 degree drop in temperature and it made us a bit cranky... well that and that some people can't drive on wet roads.
Been a while since I was up in the mountains, though I do remember that at least northern New Mexico and southern Colorado were nice, didn't see much of the supposed mountains of Denver the last time I was out that way.
Just remember not to hug the bears. They really don't like that.

And don't feed the Mini-bears either, stupid little furry spawns of Satan
Hey wow I was just in Colorado!
Don't know where your cabin is but if you get down near Colorado Springs then I recommend Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge Scenic Railway (about 1 hr 15 min south), the free walking tour of the public natural-spring drinking fountains of Manitou Springs (any town that gives away free seltzer is aces with me), plus Cave of the Winds (<--POP-UP HELL) and Manitou Cliff Dwellings (which they actually disassembled and trucked in about a hundred years ago--kinda like London Bridge is out near Needles now).
For restaurants, if you get to Manitou Springs I strongly recommend the pork belly tacos and cherry cider at Manitou Brewing Company (you gotta look for the sign because their storefront is set back from the main drag). And if you're out on the blasted plain near Windsor (north of Denver), I can't recommend Chimney Park too highly (but save that for a special occasion, 'cause monies).
Anyway, have fun, drive safe, and watch out for the wildlife:
Round the curve of a sudden came the elk
And our meeting was not very pleasant to see
And the need of a butcher shop for him
And the need of a brand-new car for me.
--Alfred, Lord Venison
Have a nice trip! Have a good time.

Yeah, that drop in temp over the night had me waking up wonder why the hell it was so cold.

Walked out this morning to go to work and my first words were "What the F, it's cold", what part of the state are your from?
2453512
Wise County.
2453516
North of Dallas... in the part of the state that regularly gets pasted by winter weather or at least seems like it when compared to the Hill County

Yeah, something like that. It either gets all the weather or the least of it.
Hey-o, art!

Sounds like my Friday. Lovely days hovering around the low 70s for most of the day this week, then suddenly a high in the mid-40s. Saturday morning was still chilly (mid-40s), but it got back to the 70s in the afternoon. Hopefully you'll get a similar pattern.

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE A FELLOW MINNESOTAN!!!
Hope you have a lovely time on your trip, try not to get eaten by a bear!
Also that is definitly how I saw Sunny Meadow in my head, she just looks so happy!
2453130 Manitou is my favorite town to visit in Colorado. The twin springs has the best water in my opinion, but it's crazy how the taste changes every time.
Hanging Lake and Glenwood Springs are also great places to visit, that's where I'm vacationing in a couple of weeks.
