    Leaving the site

So, life is sort of kicking my ass recently, and I've got nearly no time to read or write. I mainly came here because the writing standards were higher. Unfortunately, I may not be coming back, so any of my stories, consider them cancelled for now. If I ever come back, I may finish some of them.

    I maked a new story

Shadowrun. If you know the game, you already have a fair idea what the story entails. If not, welcome to the world of Canterlot, 2047.

So, life has finished catching up.

After many, many (I mean seriously a lot) of hours of labor, I welcomed a new member to my family:

Meet Discord. 3 feet 6 inches, 50 lbs.

    New Job, New Computer

So, this week I not only have a new job, but a couple of other big changes to my life.

I purchased the majority of the parts necessary to assemble the head of my newest PC project (A cluster Supercomputer Gaming-Rig/ Server named Discord). I will, tragically, not be able to assemble Discord's head until the remodel of my house finishes.

On Size, and the misuse of it. · 5:38am Sep 9th, 2014

Ok, so I've been wandering around this site, reading Clop. One thing that keeps hitting me is that people don't seem to quite understand key differences between Pony bodies and Human one.

First: On Height, a Pony averages 180cm (between 150cm and 200cm), or approximately 5'6" Macintosh is probably around 210cm (~6'10"). Please make sure in Human-in-Equestria stories that you keep this in mind. A Human would generally be looking up at Macintosh, but eye to eye with Twilight or Rarity.

Second: On Weight, though I know it only comes up occasionally: Ponies are HEAVY! Like in the 300kg (660lb) range. A human having a pony standing on him would crush his ribcage in like an overripe pumpkin.

Third: On Length/Depth, and the implications: Pony Stallions have approximately 24" to work with. Mares match that. I do NOT want to see 4", 8", or anything in that area being considered anything but TINY for a pony.

That said, people seem to think that MLP ponies are about half the size of real ponies. Ok. I can live with that. BUT: That makes a pony still ~90cm. Waist height to a human. Half the size, approximately an eighth the weight, so ~37.5kg (83lbs, the weight of a rather thin, average height human, for half the actual height. Half the length: STILL NOT 8"!!! ~12" is a fair place to be.

Please remember these numbers when you try to write Clop. It makes it more enjoyable for us readers if ponies aren't considering it Large when the reader is bigger. (Ok, I may be slightly biased there, since only Big Macintosh has been written as even close, Still.) I KNOW it's just a fanfic, but it's a real boner-killer to read about a mare oohing and ahhing about the 'huge' 6" dong when I can outdo that as a human. That's human average, not Pony average.

I used to think they'd be heavy (300-400 pounds at least), until Permanent Temporary and I did a scaling experiment which I was sure would prove me right. [The blog post is on my user page, at the bottom.] Result: AJ most likely weighs 48-69kg (102-152 pounds) I was wrong, but that's how science works sometimes.

My own stallion size research suggests, based on a mare's bone structure, as well as the positioning IRL horses use, that a aroused stallion would average 35-45cm long, or 2.5 to 3 times longer than an average male (12-16cm). Based on trunk length scaled calculations, it would be about 21cm (half again as long as an average male) but if an author prefers to simply shrink everything down on a pony proportionally, it would be about 15cm, with a comparable girth to a human.

That's assuming a mare is the size I used in my experiment; if she's bigger, the stallion's equipment also gets bigger.

2520018 So average 6" then.
2520023 yeah. Proportionally to body-size equestrians are actually smaller than humans.
