A Christian nerd; probably the only guy you ever met who wanted the Larrymobile to be transformed by the All-Spark. My brother, The Traveler12, is NOT the lamest person you've ever met. Check him out!

Spoiler Alert: Batman Assault on Arkham, Part 1 · 11:49pm Sep 6th, 2014

: Well, no, see, there are moters to help me move along.
:rainbowhuh:: I dunno; I still don't think it makes sense for a sniper to be wearing a clunky suit of metal armor.
: What, like it makes any more sense for the Man of Steel and the Fastest Man Alive to?
:twilightsheepish:: Ahem!
: What? Oh, right. You can begin.
:twilightsmile:: Thank you. Due to the resounding success of the Batman: Arkham video game franchise, DC Comics recently released an animated movie that spins off from that series. Just as importantly, however, this is the first starring role that the Suicide Squad has had in any project outside of the comics. The Suicide Squad is a team of super-criminals who work for the government in exchange for reduced prison sentences. As such, we've been 'asked' by Mr. Lawton here....
: Ahem!
:twilightsheepish:: What? Oh, fine. We've been 'asked' by Deadshot here, one of the team's most famed members, to review this film. So, let's get to it!
:ajsmug: :yay: :pinkiesmile: :rainbowdetermined2: :raritywink: :twilightsmile:: Saw Batman: Assault on Arkham the other day!

:twilightsmile:: The film begins with the Riddler pestering Amanda Waller, the Squad's supervisor, remotely, before Waller manages to pin-point his position and have him captured by soldiers. How did she do this to one of Gotham's smartest criminals? Because she's freaking Amanda Waller, one of the few women in comic books who can beat you without using superpowers or her fists! Before the 2011 reboot, at least.

:raritywink:: However, before she can take him in, Batman arrives to have Riddler properly arrested, instead of being taken in to Waller's dubious care. This Batman look has gotten some flack for its translucent eye lenses, but I actually rather like the creepy vibe it gives off. Waller, needing to destroy data Riddler stole from her, is thusly forced to call a new Suicide Squad to retrieve him.
And, ugh, what is this noise?! It sounds like someone's trying to bleed my ears!
:rainbowlaugh:: Waddaya mean? It's dubstep! It's awesome!!
:applejackconfused:: If'n ya say so, Rainbow. We then get a montage ta intraduce our team, startin' wit' Killer Frost, an ice villain who....
....actually, that's about all we learn about her throughout the entire flick. Huh.
Then we meet King Shark, and he....
SWEET CELESTIA, Rainbow, get Fluttershy outta the room!!
:fluttershbad:: Huh? What's happe....yipe!!
SLAM!!

First off:

Secondly, I did actually like the Batsuit here. It had a nice, Nolan-Meets-DCAU look to it that I think was really strong. And I didn't mind the see-through lenses. Makes more sense then the 'supah white bright' ones from the comics...at least when in a medium like film:unsuresweetie:

2433798 So glad I'm eliciting that sort of reaction. :pinkiehappy:
It wasn't you that was complaining about it; it was a regular feature in the reviews I found online. By the way, don't read IGN's review; it was disturbingly positive for the belligerent critic in me. :pinkiecrazy: :twilightangry2:
And, yeah, I like the look too. It's supposed to be the Arkham batsuit, which has always been a combination of practical and fanciful. That design really reached its peak in Arkham Origins, involving a lot of relevant detail and maintaining great balance between durability and agility. Though it could've used a little more color.

As for the lenses, once again, it's a balance between realism and fantasy. It looks cooler than bare eyes, but more believable than blank ones. Though they're not my favorites, I do like them.

2434069 yeah.

I might mention our Batman having similar lenses

2434148 Cool. I've always kind of juggled the idea of his lenses changing color. Like a black stealth mode, a blue or yellow friendly mode, a red pursuit mode, and a white off mode.
