Around two years ago, after reading quite a bit of pony fanfiction, I decided to try my hand at writing my own story. What I came up with was a short, dramatic little thing called Forever Dawn. I enjoyed writing it, people seemed to like it, and a few favorites, follows, and plenty of encouraging words were thrown my way.
Then I just... sort of... forgot about it.
I got bored. I didn't have the drive or inspiration to try writing something longer. I kept reading, of course – I've read millions of words of pony fiction since then. I finished my junior year of high school. I finished senior year. I graduated.
I recently started at college, as a computer science major. For some reason I started feeling the itch to write again. The problem is, I want to write, but I never feel like writing. I decided to force myself; I'm taking an introductory creative writing course, joined my university's NaNoWriMo club, and I'm considering adding creative writing as a minor. Any day now, I'm going to have no choice but to sit down and write something.
So imagine my surprise this morning to find favorite and comment notifications in my inbox. People were suddenly reading my two-year-old story, and I had no idea why. All day long, they kept coming. One of the commenters linked me to the source: Scribbler did a fantastic dramatic reading of Forever Dawn on youtube. I'm not sure why they chose it, but I love it!
So... I may or may not be writing another fanfic sometime soon. I'll try to make it something worth reading!
