A Christian nerd; probably the only guy you ever met who wanted the Larrymobile to be transformed by the All-Spark. My brother, The Traveler12, is NOT the lamest person you've ever met. Check him out!

Spoiler Alert: Guardians of the Galaxy, Part 4 · 2:08pm Aug 6th, 2014

:twilightsheepish:: ....and Ronan's still alive! Well, obviously; he had an Infinity Gem, for Celestia's sake. While Rocket whips up one last plan to defeat Ronan, Quill starts dancing as a distraction. The idea's a bit cliche, but admittedly, Pratt is just so endearingly awkward that it manages to redeem this otherwise worn-out scene.
Rocket creates one last weapon, which he wisely fires at the Gem, and not at Ronan, blasting the Gem away from Ronan where Quill can pick it up. The Gem begins to kill Quill, until the other Guardians join in him in bearing its power. They prove equal to the challenge, and blast Ronan out for good.
What can I say? Friendship is Magic.
:ajbemused:: Unfortunately, Yondu still wants the Gem. Quill gives 'im the Orb, an' ya can already see where this' goin'. Yondu leaves, offhandedly mentionin' that he's glad 'e never gave Quill up ta Quill's father 'a unspecified alien origin, 'cause Quill's father's a jerk. Sequel Plug!
A'course, as ya probably guessed, once Yondu gets far enough away, he discovers that the Orb had a Troll doll in't, not the Gem.
: Fun Fact! Using the term 'troll' to refer to actions deliberately performed to provoke a reaction happened as early as 1972. So Quill's use of the slang is actually plausible, if not probable.
:duck:: Huh. Interesting, I guess. The Guardians have their criminal records wiped clean in exchange for their heroism, and they blast off to find new adventures. The film ends much as it began; with a happy retro song wrapping it all up.
That, and an absolutely ADORABLE version of Groot manages to grow out of a twig Rocket salvaged and placed in a flower pot!

:pinkiehappy:: But even that can't compare to the sheer AWESOMENESS of the cameo that comes in the After-Credits Scene! It's the one, the only....
HOWARD THE DUCK!!!

:twilightsheepish:: Riiiight. So, to be honest, this review was probably our most painful yet. It was hard trying to criticize a genuinely good film. It's not GREAT yet-a little more narrative clarity and focus would help in that department-but it is very, very, VERY good. With a surprising amount of heart, some great action, and a TON of fun, we'd definitely recommend this film to anyone.
Say, by the way, Fluttershy. What was that you were saying about animals and alcohol earlier?
:fluttershyouch:: Um, w-well, that actually had something to do with that Matthew Patel colt you fought last week....
:twilightangry2:: Oh, that irritating unicorn? I thought he was Pinkie's ex-coltfriend. What does he have to do with intoxicated animals?
:pinkiecrazy:: Well, it was back during my CA-RAZY days at the party scene back in Manehatten. You see....
:applejackconfused:: Now hold on, sugah cube; this is NOT a story we want goin' on record just yet. C'mon, Twilight. We'll head on over to another room an' tell ya the story.
: All right. Lead the way!
............
:twilightoops:: You did WHAT together?!

Yes, I know I'm hardly the first person to review this one. Heck, I'm not even the first one to do that on this site. But I felt that I still had things left to say about the movie, so I went ahead with the review.
Also, yes, I know that the term 'hallelujah' means 'praise Yahweh' and would not be used in an Equestrian song to honor the Royal Pony Sisters. Tell that to the guy who made the video.

I enjoyed it quite myself.

I felt it handled developing the main characters far better and more evenly then the rather Tony-centric Avengers, which left Thor and Nat and ESPECALLY Clint, in the dust, while putting too much focus on Tony and having Bruce seemingly forget all the character development that happened in the 2008 film.

2348197 Yeah, it's definitely a good film; it just had room for improvement. While I'll admit I sometimes review something just to bash it, like with Transformers 3, I usually prefer to be constructive in my criticism.
In terms of the Avengers, I will say that helps a lot when you have Nat and Clint have stronger roles in other films. It's one of the things that your stories do quite admirably.
As for Bruce, while I know you really liked the 2008 film, the Hulk films in general have not been among Marvel's favorites and I don't think they pay too much attention to them.

2348213 yeah...which is a shame, since the 2008 film was pretty darn good, all things considered.

That, and Edward Norton is eighteen times a better actor then Mark Ruffalo could ever dream of being.

2348226 Haven't gotten around to either Hulk film myself, so I can't really comment. :twilightblush:
