    Revised Harmony Spirits

I wanted a full set of these with proper art, so with permissions from mauroz, here they are. A couple effects have been tweaked to be consistent with modern vernacular in the card game and for my own better understanding of card design and balancing, and I also added a new "Tier 1.5" form for Twilight so she can have her own Fusion outside the ace monster, and finally added Sunset as a

Mega Mare Rejected One Last Time · 10:28pm Jul 25th, 2014

After wrapping up Mega Mare, I went over it and revised it one last time, running the entire fic through a spellchecker and re-reading each chapter and making revisions before sending it off to Equestria Daily in one final attempt. As the blog title might have spoiled, it was turned down. I miss the pre-readers at this point because I'm not sure why, but so it goes. I can only do so much proofreading on my own, at this point I'm really sick of the story having looked it over the same passages so many times and I don't have it in me to do it again.

I'm not bitter by any means, just kinda disappointed that a full-length fic I spent months on has made so little an impact. But EqD's initial rejection was what got me motivated to understand things like comma splices, telly-talk and bookisms, and my writing has improved drastically for that. So ultimately, thank you, EqD, for helping me to become a better writer. My only hope now is that my eventual submission of TFSD is met with a warmer reception. Those of you who haven't read Mega Mare and are tired of me whining about it's obscurity (I don't blame you) feel free to check it out now.

EDIT - Thank you to the pre-reader who responded to my response to the rejection email. I will abstain from mentioning names for the sake of their privacy. The reasons given for the fic's rejection were the setting wasn't very fleshed out and the characters not well-developed. And that's completely fair, I stuck to the Mega Man format in making each chapter like a stage with an obvious boss battle and enemy encounters, which doesn't allow for a lot of character or worldbuilding aside from infodumps, which I already had and didn't want to keep falling back on to explain things. So, there you have it.

Hmm... Personally, I can see nothing wrong with it. :applejackunsure:
The grammar looks good, Story is great, and it is overall, a great read. :pinkiehappy:
Not that I know anything.... :rainbowlaugh: :rainbowwild:

2315995 Thank you.

I'm sorry about you getting rebuffed but I really want to congratulate you on being able to keep things in perspective. Getting on Eqd would be cool but at the same time you're clearly growing and improving as a writer. Keep working on your path and I'm sure we'll be happy to welcome you in future.

Also...we do have those links in the editor's omnibus that mentions pre-reading resourses. No offense intended!..:twilightsheepish:

2316037 Yeah, I'd be really self-pitying and depressed right now if Mega Mare was all I'd written, but it isn't and my other stories have done far better. I really blame the premise for the obscurity, it's written to stand on its own as a sci-fi action fic, but I recognize that that's a genre the fandom may not be interested in even before you factor it it's a crossover.

I feel ya, bro. I spent nearly half a year typing a full length story, n' I only have one guy keeping me motivated in the comments section lol xD Oh well, I like my story :pinkiehappy: I didn't submit it to EqD tho. I wouldn't worry about those guys; they're tasteless as hell.

2316075 At first I submitted it to try and get some exposure as a new author in the fandom. Then I got that independently and it was almost like my Kobayashi Maru, a personal quest I couldn't let go. But now I've chosen to. My only hard feelings over it are that since they abolished pre-readers and individual feedback from them I really have no idea why the fic was rejected, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. I'm proud of what I've done and if it's not good enough for their standards than oh well.

Sometimes the "In/Out" of EqD is a crapshoot. I wrote Concept Art - Captured in Stone almost two years ago, it went to EqD three times now, bounced each time. Shrug, move on, write more I guess :pinkiehappy:

2316074 Well, for what it's worth, another PR did send some more detailed feedback to keep in mind for future works.
