Finally got word back from Equestria Daily for Memories. There was something wrong with it, but they didn't tell me what it was at all. If it were my guess, it's probably a show vs. tell issue. I've sent the story to an official Proof-reader in hopes that they can help figure out what the issues may be. Hopefully he accepts it and helps.
I will try my best to keep the story as similar as possible, but it's likely there will be some rewritten parts.
Thank you to everyone that's enjoyed the story so far! Hopefully the changes to come don't ruin what you enjoyed about it! I don't think they will... it can only get better from here, right?
Unless we tell everyone the ending how spike will... Ahh just messing with ya I bet it will still give us the same feels.
Screw Equestria Daily, they keep wanting everypony to change up their stories for all kinds of reasons sometimes for the no other reason then they can ask for it.
Like 2271626 said, forget about Equestria Daily. They don't value good stories anymore, all they feature is stories that they like to read.

That may be true, but it's also a sad truth that getting a story up on EqD has brought me a lot more exposure than not. The system right now makes it very difficult for less-known writers to get their stuff out there. It gets lost in the hundreds of new or updated fanfics.
Once you reach a certain threshold, you are more able to go a little farther without help. Just need enough exposure to get into the features box. I'm not at that point right now.
I like to look at the positives of everything, though. Past stories that were first denied by EqD were made better for the second pass, but I never made changes that I felt hurt the story. If I edit everything that I feel could have been done better and they still deny it, then I will give up on trying to put it up there. In the end, I'm not going to sacrifice what I feel made the story what it was just for EqD's pleasure.
I have to try, though. At least for now.
