So get this. I was having an average conversation with my family, when the topic of My Little Pony was brought up. Now, let me make one thing clear: my parents have never given the MLP fandom a chance and have always been opposed to me being a Brony, so they have no idea what sort of people are on here. So, as I was saying, in our conversation, the topic of MLP came up. It turned into this long winded speech about how, judging on the original demographic for the show is little girls, there is a huge risk of predators and pedophiles. Now, while I acknowledge that these concerns are warranted, I find it rather sad and frustrating that so many people judge on appearances. I mean, think about it. Most potential employers judge a person on appearance first, going so far as to Google your name to see what comes up. Then there are those who immediately jump to the same conclusion my parents did, as did my High School Principal. And finally, we have those in the fandom itself that judge each other's posts on this site just by the amount of likes, or the cover artwork it has. I mean, have we all forgotten the first appearance of Zecora in season one? Have we really forgotten how Twilight overlooked the cure for poison joke by judging a book by its cover? What I'm trying to say here, is that there are some real jewels on this site that are completely overlooked because they have dumb cover art, or very few likes. So don't judge by appearance, give a few of them a look.
Now, before I go, its only fair that I give a little update on PMTM. I have started writing the next chapter, and it should be out within the next month, hopefully, as long as Slacker Syndrome doesn't strike again. Also, I would like to announce that Puella Magi Twilight Magica is actually the third story (chronologically) in what I am dubbing the Magica-verse. This means, that along with Rebellion, I'm planning on writing two prequel stories that are set in aborted timelines. This will include the Puella Magi Orico Magica story, as well as a totally original story that will feature elements from the Persona games, namely, Twilight will be using Personas to fight, as will anypony else that isn't a Magical Filly. I might be willing to release this one early if I manage to get up to 50 likes on Puella Magi Twilight Magica.

My parents and a lot of my family know I watch My Little Pony and they don't really care about it.
I've been quite lucky, only my little sister finds my bronyness to be laughable, my parents just accept it. I agree with you on the subject of fics though. Cover art, like: dislike ratio and number of followers, even profile pics tend to unfairly affect how people perceive fics. As soon as I put my (expensive) cover art up, I saw a noticeable increase in hits. I wish they'd abolish the feature box, it's just a box for clop.
