The Most Interesting "Critique" So Far · 12:30pm Jun 4th, 2012
I'll be honest; this hurt a little, but rather than get all riled up, I'd like to ask you guys what you think of this gentleman's opinion and do a little response here.
"Cliche plot line filled with flashbacks" - Not that I think think it's the best story in the world, but what aspects are actually cliche? I'm borderline paranoid about not using ideas that others have used before. Oh, and there are exactly two flashbacks, and those are only in the first chapter, which was intended to be a one-shot.
"Oh look it's humanized" - Fair enough if you don't like humanized, but... what's your point? That was simply what I chose to do with the story.
"It's too damn long (clopfics are supposed to be short and sweet) and filled with romance. Romance might work, but in a clopfic where a minor has sex, just no." - Like Fine Wine is longer than this in one chapter. I was a little worried I'd played on the romance too much. Again, fair enough if you don't want to see minors in that position, but it's kind of the point of the story. Without it, it would probably turn out CLICHE.
From the third paragraph, it's pretty clear that this guy can't read subtext. I think he's taking everything literally (which is REALLY stupid.)
"Spike looks like some hood who carries a knife in his back pocket and constantly fails at pathetic chivalry. It makes me groan every time I see a male in a story do this." - Okay, that just made me laugh. And based on the rest of his comment, I don't think he can talk about "chivalry".
"You make everything sound so fucking dramatic for a minor having sex." - I might take this one a little more seriously. Am I being melodramatic? Possibly.
I don't know about any of you, but I personally cannot respect the opinions of someone who resorts to personal insults and name calling.
I think it's safe to say that a comment coming from someone named "GayFuckingRetardedNigger" is not really worth any consideration.

^ I disregarded anything and everything he said after this point. This review was the most outright biased I've seen in a while. There was no justification beyond what they EXPECTED it to be, as if you had to make the story suit their individual tastes. Just ignore him. Your work was fantastic (imo), and one idiot saying otherwise shouldn't bother you.

I'm thinking trolling. And well, usually it's good to say 'every opinion counts', but we can disregard this right now methinks... Just a hunch...
Bashing of the greatest mature story - imho - ever? I mean the only problem I had was that the first chapter was mostly sex, which I try to avoid in my fanfics, but the second and third chapter were amazing. Don't let the hate stop you from writing. Oh and also I already told you I'd kill you if you ever stopped writing.

You've done an excellent job thus far, I myself have never been able to write a story for my life (not even mentioning one as good as this), so I cannot share the hurt you are feeling; I can only imagine it. Whether they actually have that as a name for him/herself or did that on purpose for you does not matter, once someone degrades themselves by being so biased without allowing any allotment for the trials and tribulations that you (or anyone, for that matter) has gone through to make this or any other story automatically nulls almost everything that they've said.
So I hope, with me and the others saying our part on this matter, it makes you feel better about yourself and your story. Good day/night sir, I hope you do not take this troll to heart too much; think of it as a large stepping stone in your (hobby)career. Personally, I think you're doing really well with this story and i cannot wait for more, kudos ^___^
I actually dont think this guy is trolling. But thats only because I feel it gives that reviewer too much credit.
Now I've heard of constructive criticism, but this criticism was about as constructive as trying to build a house of cards out of bricks
