Just your average flying pony with a little more to carry than his own wings can handle

When a pilot finds himself trapped with no good choices left, what will he do? Good intentions conflict with harsh realith, and he has to balance saving lives against losing his own before he can help.

Neither Cards Nor Cons Shall Keep Me... · 5:51pm Jul 5th, 2014

...From my appointed posting! Well, not for more than a day or so. I know a lot of people are at Everfree, CrystalCon, BronyExpo (in Alberta, eh?) and Anthrocon, and even I am gravitating towards Seattle as we speak, but that's no reason not to post this. I would have done so yesterday, but a marathon session of showing a few folks the MLP:CCG ate about 14 hours of my day.

Presenting, from the great Northwest, the next chapter of The Last Link! When we last left our intrepid ponies, they were sitting in an airplane, much like I do most days. Then they argued a bit... much like I do most days.

This week, however, I want to give you something different. Ponies... sitting in airplanes.... arguing......... until they aren't.

That's right, stuff will happen! STUFF. This chapter was about the hardest for me to write- I had the hardest time not making it a laundry list of little events, so... we'll see if I was at all successful in getting the energy up and keeping it flowing. Is it a turning point in the story? Probably. A resolution? Of some things, yes, but others are left open. There are a few chapters left to come after this, keep in mind. Though I won't say who's in them, or how things end up.

That would spoil the surprise.

So in a few minutes, enjoy Chapter 8. Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Maybe even your frenemies! Just don't tell my eighth-grade English teacher, Mrs. S, for she'd cackle at me for finally writing something creative, which I swore off all those *mumble* years ago...

A CCC that ran you 14 hours? Ouch.

2260098 It was more than one hand! Actually, it was a lot of fun. My friend had a few decks, but had never played, so we dug in and got him acquainted.

I have to say, playing the game with two balanced decks makes it really enjoyable- we used fresh-out-of-the-wrapper ones, and most games ended up fairly close. Even when we used my own decks, the games were usually competitive. Lots of fun!

Are you coming to Everfree? Come say hi! There's an author meet-up at 7 PM tonight and I'll be at most of the fanfic panels!

2260907 Damn, I didn't see this until we got back down south! We didn't buy passes, so we couldn't go in any panels. I'm sorry I missed stopping by to say hello. :/ I hope the writing panel went well- I enjoyed those when I attended last year!

D'aww. The writing track went well though! Next year, I hope.
