    In the Interests of Closure

...I've published the long-standing "ghost notes" for FOE: New Pegas. Some last-minute clarifications and editing has been done as of today, but all of these entries are from the original project which I started a decade ago. They were the "working notes" segments which I would reference and update as necessary during the project, which has effectively ended at the closure of Arc One after

The Trooper (The Battle for Big Rock City)

Cherry remembers working a job as auxiliary sniper to the NCR Army, against the Herd, at Big Rock City. There was a unicorn he went drinking with a lot, in between cross-river skirmishes. Then the Herd surged through the City, and he never saw the unicorn again.

    Soarin the Headless Plasma Gunner

Apologies aforehoof. This is the best version I could find online, and while it's not bad, it pales in quality and verve to the 1987 live cut I have on my personal playlist. It frankly comes across as too long and overwrought, but uploading my version anywhere without transforming it in any way would be illegal. If you want to cut to the chase, skip to 3:30 in the linked video, though as I say,

    Saddle-Town

    SADDLE-TOWN
(a song of the First Generation)

Well, we're living here in Saddle-Town
Where they once burned all the factories down.

Out in Ponyville it's raiding time,
    They're dealing in slaves,
    And blurring the line.

Well our mothers fought the only world-war
Fought the Zebras bunkered on our shores,

    Reinvigorated? Feels Like It...

The newest episode of MLP covered Las Pegasus, as pretty much anyone reading this blog should know.

Mapping Hiatus and Frustration · 4:23am Jul 16th, 2012

So, haven't been working much on the continental FOE map in the last few weeks, mainly because I haven't had the time I need to read through all the fics necessary to get placement of cities and regions correct.

But I'm officially putting it on hiatus because every time I try to get some feedback on it, people go ballistic that I'm using the North American continental map as a basis. Why? I've said why: it works with the show's canon use of ponified city names from Manehattan to Las Pegasus, just as one (of many) example(s).

Seems to really set people off, though: they want a complete disassociation of anything having to do with humans from anything FOE-related. Not that I'm having any walking, talking ape-men make any FOE appearances, but even the SUGGESTION of a link makes folks flip out. This has made map development a hell of getting one or two questions into a discussion and then having a huge pointless argument over how everybody interprets MLP/FO canon and FOE fanon.

This pretty much explains my current attitude... >^>

Well, Somber is a popular guy so naturally he gets rabid fandogs to bite you in the bum. Its the way of the internet, just make your own headcannon and write with that in mind. If the story is good then people wont care if it clashes with FO:E or PH.

He didn't sic anyone on me; it just happened that a bunch of other folks chimed in. Made having a reasonable discussion all but impossible...

And the thing is, it DOESN'T clash with either story. Both are central canon to me for writing my own material.

exactly what i meant. You talked it over with somber, and it was not in private. Somber disagrees, and then you think other people wont chime in? It would be like attempting to have a reasonable discussion while standing on the speaker podium while a giant crowd looks at you two.
