Friendship is Musical! an Angel Blog

Hey guys...Oh wait hang on a second.

There we go! That's a good way to make it clear who's writting this Blog.

Yeah Angel Warrior Queen here, or Angel for short. It's a bit of a wait for Chapter two of Friendship is Universal yes I know but in the waiting period I'd like to talk about my/our main fuel for inspiration on this story (beyond the site-spanning love for My Little Pony of course) and that's Brony Music!

Yeah I have to say what got me into the Community was the art and music. Everything I saw and heard was so beautiful I thought the show that inspired it must be something impressive! So I popped up to Youtube and the rest is history! :D [/colour]

But anyway enough of my rambling, back on topic! When I started Friendship is Universal with Chimera, I started gathering the music from the Brony community that I had been listening to on Youtube and made a big glorious songlist to help fuel the inspiration fires. Now I won't be revealling all the music of my playlist straight off the batpony (Hur hur horrible pun :P) but I'd like to share and talk about the songs that I find are most prevalent to the chapters posted thus far, that is the Prologue and First Chapter- and hopefully explain the connections.

This is what I do when I'm bored kids. Get out while you still can!!

Evening Star- Friendship is Magic

This is my first pick for the Prologue mainly because...Well listening to this piece is what inspired me to do FiU in the first place. I had done Fanfictions lots of times in the past but lack of comments and other people the share the love I was giving the thing I was writing about really drained my enthusiasim for what I was doing...If you dig you'll be able to find at least one unfinished fanfiction among the original work and terrible doodles. After awhile I told myself that Fanfiction was childish, that I was a more Mature author and that I should work on Original works so I could make that novel I would be proud of sending to the publishers.

...So I guess I'm having a second childhood as a writer? Eh who knows I'm having fun at least working with Chimera and having people at least a few people like what they read...Oh and all you readers and commenters..... Thank you thank you thank you!!! <<<<3

While Evening Star is one of my top fav Brony Musicians I have to be fair and pick another song that also suits the prologue in my opinion.

Bronyfied - No One Leaves The Hive

This one is the first piece I chose when I began building my Fanfic music list, and I find it suits the mood of our Changeling protagonist's escape from his Hivemates, especially when we learn what they're like in Chapter one. The guitar really gives the feeling of despirate fleeing, which is the mood I wanted in the beginning. Changelings are cool, but I doubt the hive is a very nice place to live if you're low on the Food Chain like Low Tempo is.

Okay! I think that's enough for my Prologue picks. Let's see how the Brony Community has inspired me on Chapter one... Oh! This one!

Awoken- H8 Seed + Woodentoaster

Heh, time for an infamous one. While I'm not crazy on the idea of the Rainbow Factory the lyrics of the Factory worker in this song I found resonated very strongly with Low Tempo- He has seen a lot of pain as a Changeling, and while unhappy with his lot of life he's sort of...accustomed to it, until the ponies he's beginning to encounter is making him desire something better than what he has now

...Yes. "Awoken" is essentially Low Tempo's "I want" song. How messed up am I? XD

Hmm. One more I think before I close this blog for now. Let me see....Well POOP it looks like I'm going to be repeating myself. Oh well can't be helped.

Evening Star- Land of Equestria

Yeeeeeeeees I know I already featured Evening Star, if you have any other suggestions I'd be happy to hear but for now Shoosh.
I suppose I like this song for the first chapter because it's so...Majestic! You can imagine a beautiful land just rolling out in front of you and doesn't it make you wanna go out and explore? does what I describe sound similiar? Maybe from a certain scene in a certain fanfiction...?

Yeah that was kind of silly. I should probably stop now shouldn't I?

Well I think that'll wrap it up for now but I'll try to keep my comments for Friendship is Universal in the Blog posts, just because the Author comments are kind of chunky now that I look at them. Chapter two and another music blog inbound kiddies! Keep on inspiring me with those arts and I'll try to do the same for you~
