Health Update April 14 · 5:31am Apr 15th, 2014
Hey all.
First, I want to announce that there is a Rites TVTropes page. Please go show it some love and add tropes!
Second, some bad news. I will likely not have much in the way of new writing until the end of June. This is because my hands still hurt like hell and it’s likely that until they are treated medically and professionally, this will remain true. I can’t get that done until I’m back in the states, and I don’t return until June 1st.
I tried seeing about getting it done in Canada but it would run upwards of a grand since I’m not a part of their system. At least in the US I have Anthem’s insurance, which will grant me a discount.
I can still do editing as long as I don’t need huge re-writes. Hopefully no chapter needs that. And, I have a huge backlog of stuff I can edit and publish. So chapters will still trickle out. However, the next one is the only one that’s “done” editing wise, so I’m holding it back a little bit. The next two after that should be edited together, so it’ll be a bit before they’re done.
There’s some stuff I’d love to add to the next several chapters, but I can’t due to the injury. There’s one in particular that I half feel that may seem like it should be there, and this is due to how the chapters were edited. Unfortunately I can’t do that anytime soon. I understand if you guys are upset about it, but I’m going to push forward with releases anyway, as the way things are right now is still "story complete" and isn't missing anything critical to understand the story. I figure advancing the story and getting stuff posted is more important. I can add it in later on when my hands are better. There is yet another addition I feel would strengthen the story, but isn’t strictly necessary, so I’ll see about adding it down the road too but I have no pressing need for it. Thus, it’s lower on the “to do” list. Health comes first. (At least I can still edit and release, though.)
I’ll be spending 2-3 weeks in the US after arriving there June 1st. More than I want, but I don’t know the timetable for treatment here.
There is one, shining ray of hope, though. Turns out they don't just stick you haphazardly anymore. They use some kinda new tech to guide it to right where it needs to be and will do the most good. This means that it's less likely to cause infection, and the medicine is delivered in a way that is not only more effective, but lasts longer. It's highly probable they do this in the US, too.
Also, thank you all for your offers of dictation, but sadly that’s not an option. The wife and I just rent a room in a house, we don’t have a real place of our own. The walls being as thin as they are, I’m not really up to dictating a story about ponies out loud with so many others around. By the time we are able to get our own place, odds are it’ll be months after I’ve been to the US, treated, and back again. Thanks to everyone’s generous donations, I also have what I need to prevent a relapse… hopefully. At the very least, make it take much longer than it would otherwise.

Glad to hear you will get treated soon. I take it you will let us know once the chapters have been updated, and which chapters have these updates?

Hey, anybody who hassles you about chapters being late or the story being less than perfect should probably be smacked. Don't let 'em make you feel guilty. Your health is WAY more important than their desire to read small horse words.

But I hope you can get some actual help. It would suck to not be able to talk to you when I finally am not being assaulted to hell by school.

CV - I wouldn't have the time for it, but whispering into your mic to someone who has their volume turned up extra, extra loud may be an option.
Pro-tip, do not play Diablo 3. I'm basically killing my wrists with that game

Cv... Cv Cv... You should know by now that we value your health more than your stories. While we may be here for your stories, I don't think any one of us would be pissed or annoyed because updates will be slow due to your health not being at its best.
If you need to take a break to heal, then take that break
I waited over a year for Varanus to update Composure, I can wait a few months for you 
It's Canada, just get a tape recorder and find a nice quiet hillside.
I was gonna suggest that you get your wife to write for you a bit, but seeing as that leaves you with the same problem of paper-thin walls i guess it's not an option. Having scenes added post-release isn't that bad either though.
